HVR4000 tried in 4 different machines, 2xXP, 1xVista Business, 1xVista Ultimate. Typically Core Duo 2.4 with 2GB.
Clean installations, BDA muxes from Intervideo, Cyberlink, ATI and of course dvr-ms.
I am only getting recordings in transport stream, VideoReDo can not sort it (works very well converting dvr-ms to mpeg2). VLC player struggles to give broken audio with frozen video.
Is it just too early for mpeg4 or am I being thick? Best regards to all.

You need a h.264 codec that copes with MBAFF like core avc or power dvd 7.x to play these recordings if your recording from dvb-t (not sure about dvb-s2). I did record Monster Inc over xmas but my cpu is not enough without re-encoding to 720p mpeg2.

Yeah, it is pretty early days when it comes to mpeg4 transmissions.

That said, you should be able to record a transport stream for this channel. You'd need HDTV Pump and a decoder like the Cyberlink H264 decoder installed to play it.

Many thanks to you both. Despite Coreavc being on holiday I have located and downloaded 1.3. I have also ordered a Technotrend 3200 which comes with Power DVD7 to add to the fun.
It seems inevitable that the UK will go this way eventually and if you don't do footie, you don't want to pay Mr Murdock lots of money each month and you can't yet see the attraction of Blue Ray/HD-DVD then BBC HD is the only way to drive the 42" 1080 and projector for now. Keep up the good work Sub, my standard definition pvr/mvp setup has been doing good service for some years and will continue as the centre piece.

Here in NZ they're intending to launch an MPEG4 based freeview service in Feb 2008, so you can be sure I'll be interested in this when launch time rolls around.

It seems that they are going to start broadcast HD DVB-T here in Sweden.
So what do I need to do? I have a NOVA-T receiver.
Then I need a decoder, example Cyberlink (from PowerDVD 7) or similar.
You mention a HDTV pump what is that?
Enything elese needed to set it up? Will it be automatically recorded to TS or do i set it up somewhere?

Regards
Oscar

You need the Cyberlink h.264 decoder. I'm not sure what Cyberlink products it comes with. I seem to remember it was available as a paid-for addon to Cyberlink PowerDVD.

Its a component for playing back transport stream files in directshow applications:
