I picked one of these up on woot.com today for $99 US.

I've noted several threads where the Adaptec AVC-3610 works well with GB-PVR with some tweaking of the configuration files.

I'm just curious if the 98.13 release contains support for it now, or if a future release will.

EDIT: Oops, wrong forum. Sorry. Sub, can you move this over or delete it?

I've never used one myself, but there have been a few users that have indicated it works fine with the exception of the FM Radio.

FYI - I have it and set it up. Its a Media Center Edition 2005 device, but with the eHome drivers by Microsoft on my XP Professional it works just great. I have basic cable so am not making use of the IR blasters at this time. Of note, it DOES come with TWO IR blasters for different devices which is kind of neat.

I'm having occasional audio chirping, but that's just the usual "find what codec works best with this device" kind of thing.

Nice to have dual tuners... ahhhhhh.

I have this and it works with XP Pro (just have to get those eHome Drivers as mentioned). I'm just not sure how to program the remote so my PC/TV recognizes it. I finally got the remote working in GBPVR though (had to set it up in the tuner settings and choose IR Blasters for the remote).

I'm also having sound problems, but I guess that's due to codec issues. I can either get the sound to be right with AC3Filter and then not be able to hear voices on the DVD, or turn up the voices by 10 dB and have it work correctly with the DVD, but sound horrible with regular TV recordings..

I have one and it works great.

I'm using the GPL decoders with it:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=105790

I have no chirping with those and it works better than my Hauppauge I replaced it with.

$99 from woot is where I got mine months ago. Rats, did I miss a woot-off? Would have liked to pick up another one!

I was able to get the FM working by using the HP drivers for the device and making these changes.http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=10

smajor,

What audio decoder do you use? I find that I get blurring with live TV. It also happens if I fast forward past commercials. It fixes itself if I back out of the recording and resume it though. I can't figure out what a good combo is for video and audio decoders Sad.

This sounds like it could be the quatz.dll problem. I always had the problem when I tried to skip ariund a movie. Take a look here

Thank you! I was hoping I wouldn't have to do anything like that, but I'll give a shot once I build up the motivation to go through the process, lol.

Thank you dark_half. Switching to the quartz.dll for directX 9.0b fixed my FF/RW problems. Smile
