error message on startup

whenever I start up gbpvr, the splash screen takes longer than usual, and then an error pops up saying "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I'm pretty sure this happened once before, but I cant remember what I had to do to fix it. I did install some DVD burning software, but removed it because I thought it might be causing the problem. This didn't help at all. I'm really confused, because it kinda happened out of the blue.
If anyone has any insight or knowledge about how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try setting <DefaultStartupOptions></DefaultStartupOptions> in config.xml? Yours currently has <DefaultStartupOptions>-direct &quot;Live TV&quot; -inset</DefaultStartupOptions>

how do i go about doing that. do i just edit it in the log file?

Just edit config.xml in the notepad editor.

yay. That did it Sub! Thanks alot. I wonder why it changed, or what caused it.

hmmm... no more error message, but live tv doesn't work. I didn't think to check it before. The info box shows up, and so does that time shifting/status bar at the top. The screen is black otherwise. The names of the shows show up, but the info about it doesn't appear in the box as well. Very odd. (I'm playing back through my TV)

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

hey, I just did a system restore to the day before I installed those dvd burning programs and that took care of it. But thanks alot for all your help sub.
