I upgraded to Vista Business edition and my PVR hasn't worked since. I've searched through the forums and tried lots of things, but haven't found an answer yet.

I cannot get the Program guide to come up and I can't seem to watch live TV. These are the errors I am getting:

TV Guide: Error specified cast is not valid
Live TV: No tuners are availble to watch the requested channel

I can watch TV on the Hauppauge supplied WinTV2000 and I can go into Video Library and watch old shows that I recorded before the upgrade. It seems like the settings I make in the config file do not stick. I have to re-enter them every time I go into config. I also noticed in the log file there were some SQLite errors.

I have a Hauppauge PVR350 tuner on a Core2Duo with lots of memory. My setup worked great under windows XP. I would almost consider going back, as this was the main thing I was using this machine for. I've tried reinstalling most of my drivers and programs. It's possible I may have missed something, but I'm not sure what to try next. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Did you do a fresh install on Vista? You would have to. If you havnt, then unsinstall, delete the GB-PVR directory, then reinstall.

You might want to make sure you run the config app as administrator (hopefully it prompt to do this anyway).

This of course assume you've got working vista drivers for you PVR350 etc.

I, too, have the same problem. I do, at least get the program guide but if I try to watch Live TV, it never goes to the live tv screen. I get audio fine but that's it. I have a Hauppage PVR150 card. I can get Live tv to work with other programs, just not GBPVR. Help!!

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs.

What do you have the video decoder setting set to on the playback tab of the config app? Dont leave it on 'system default'.

I completely uninstalled and re-installed GBPVR and was able to reproduce the issue. I get audio but no video. As far as the Video Decoder settings under the Playback tab, the only choices I have are 'System Default' or 'Nero Video Decoder' (since I have Nero Ultra 7 installed). It makes no difference which decoder is used. Log files are attached.

Its not finding a video decoder. There must be something funny about the installation of the nero decoder that is causing it not to be used.

Try installing one of the following free decoders:

I was finally able to get live tv to work after downloading and installing the Vista Codec pack. It placed another decoder selection in the Playback tab and after selecting it, I am now able to watch live tv via GBPVR.
