TV-OUT connected to VIDEO-IN

This is all very new to me, but i want to know if this is possible: can i connect the TV-OUT from my vga-card(s-video) to the VIDEO-IN from a PVR-150 (which i dont have yet) and than watch it on my tv with a mediamvp?
If i can watch live-tv, than it has to be possible to watch the VIDEO-IN channel ?
The idea was to use the hardware mpeg-2 decoder instead of software decoding.
This way i could play all formats for which  my pc has a codec installed, even with subtitles (directvobsub)

Sounds like a good idea in theory, why not try it?

Works a treat! You'll need to combine your sound card output to whatever input you use on the capture card though.

Great, next step remote controle support for opening and using a media player on the pc?
Or DVD with full menu support maybe?
Ones i have my hardware compleet i will try some of this stuff.
How is the quallity?

Quality looked OK, but I'm not the most discerning user! I have a wireless keyboard with a pretty good range, so that should work for me!

I was actually looking for something else, but as there is a bit flying around about good software MPEG Decoders and the spotty SigmaDesigns XCard and PVR-350 support, I was wondering if this idea still has merit?

I agree it's interesting. I wonder though how I would control the mediaplayer. I have my server upstairs. I'm sure my wife would like me running up and down the stairs, but that would not be my idea of a "cool home cinema experience".

Curious. I'm guessing in order for me to test this besides having to make the physical connections, I would have to add an additional capture source in the GB- PVR config and set if to s-video external tuner? Can anyone confirm this ?
