Hi,

I'm having trouble getting GBPVR to scan channels with my SkyStar2 PCI tuner. Once the scan starts the first channel appears in the preview, but after a pause either Config.exe crashes with an error (reading/writing protected memory), or it just disappears.

I've tried various Video Decoder settings and BDA Multiplexer settings without success.

I've attached the log files from config.exe - anyone have any ideas?

If it helps, this screen capture shows that it's actually found a few channels - the list updates a few seconds after the crash.

cant help with your problem, but you could use the SS recorder plugin which use the wdm drivers if you dont get the problem resolved.
Intel P4 2500 mhz, 1.25G Ram, XP Home SP2, Maxtor 30Gb and WD 200gb drives, PVR-500MCE, DM500s, dboxrecorder, GBPVR 1.2.9, 2 x wired MVP,

I've found that the crash is caused by NTDLL.DLL, which is notorious for problems like this. There doesn't appear to be a cure for it other than reinstalling Windows and hoping it goes away.

Thanks anyway.

There's a small chance that applying the following patch might help (it shouldn't do any harm at least):

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896626

It addresses a bug in one of the Microsoft default BDA components that can crash TV applications if there's something non-standard in the transport stream.

No luck I'm afraid. I'm not going to spend much more time on this, if I can't tune channels then it's not much use. So far, I can't find any PVR software that actually works.
