Hi guys,

I'm having a problem getting my Nova-T SE Stick working in GBPVR. I have had it working on another computer under ProgDVB successfully, and on my HTPC using the copy of WinTV2000 it came with.

WinTV2000 describes it as:

Code:
Model 70009 Rev. C1B5
Serial #4027634097
Tuner Model/Formats: Microtune MT2060  //  ATSC
Tuner Audio: Mono
Video Formats: NTSC ( M ) PAL ( B G H I D K M N NCOMBO ) SECAM ( L L' )
Audio Outputs: None
External Inputs: 0
S-Video Inputs: 0
Teletext:
Radio: None
Decoder: Reserved
IR: Yes
MAC Address: 00-0D-FE-10-D1-B1

EEprom Contents:
84 09 00 04 20 77 00 40 b1 d1 10 f0
73 05 00 00
84 08 00 06 79 11 01 00 95 18 8d
72 07 70
73 09 00 5f
73 0a 80 73
72 0b 00
72 0f 01
72 10 01
72 11 ff
79 96

WinTV2000 Devices lists it as "PVR USB-2 > DVB-T"

GBPVR cannot see it. It shouts about "No known devices found" and won't work with the known Nova-T / HVR options.

I have had a HVR-900 work on this computer with GB-PVR.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

Many thanks for looking into this for me. I know a bit about the hardware inside these DVB-T systems, but the software is something of a dark art to me.

Try adding the following to bda.ini and it should be able to detect it.

[Hauppauge Nova-T-Stick type3]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Hi sub,

No joy there I'm afraid. I reconnected my HVR 900 and it found that first time.

I think I might have identified a problem. Under the "Safely Remove Hardware" dialog there is only a field for "Hauppauge Nova-T IR" which I would assume is the remote control receiver.

However, the device manager definately lists both the "Hauppauge Nova-T IR" and the "Hauppauge Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner Device" as separate items. Oddly unlike most hardware I cannot disable either of the entries.

Hmm, I'll crack this yet.

Can you try setting:

[Hauppauge Nova-T-Stick type3]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER="WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

The first step is getting it identified when setting up the capture source and you click the 'only show device detected in this machine' checkbox.

Next remember to set the device number correctly. This will be device #1.

PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I think this might be the post 3.4a drivers name change. Or this particular hardware version might only use the newer unified driver.

This works for me.

[Hauppauge Nova-T-Stick type3]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I've just run filtercheck and get the same output as NumberFive for my Nova-T stick

Bingo!

Thanks guys, that has done the trick! nj's settings worked when I clicked only show devices in this machine.

NumberFive is alive!!!

Just wondering, in your opinion is it worth trying to get my HVR working in the same machine alongside the Nova-T?

Thanks again

I think it's worth a try.

When both are installed try this utility.

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=12082

Run two instances of the prog and select the stick in one and the 900 in the other and set both running a full scan simultaneously (option 1).

If they both pick up transmissions then the devices should work together.
