Yeah, that's what I'm basically doing now with the string.replace. The only problem with that is that there is no way to know that a character I missed will not appear in the next guide download.

Ok all ... I'm not much of a coder, I do systems work ... what all do I need to give the titantv a whirl? I have a valid titan userid through the purchase of my Haup cards. I know this is really asking to be spoon fed but I'm sure I am not alone in this confusion. I'll be willing to test anything you guys come up with! The WAF will hit an all time low if this great setup quits working! She might even ditch me for some poor slob that pays for TIVO!!!

Nevermind Spartan. I was getting ahead of myself. I ran a test and those characters import fine into GB-PVR. They just crap out Internet Explorer when viewing them.

I've bought many ( okay 3 ) Haup cards, do I have a valid TitanTV userid? If so, where might I find it? Is it part of one of the application on the install cd ( WinTV scheduler? ).

No, I don't have a link handy. Mostly by viewing other PVR forums and sites that a google of Zap2it resulted in.

(Edit: tracked one of them down. http://digg.com/tech_news/Zap2It_To_Disc...ting_Feeds.)

(Edit#2: here is a post by one individual.."Have you all checked out our service meevee.com?"

Well, what I had in mind is a plug-in TitanTV scheduler that would be presented inside GB-PVR similar to the Weather plug-in, for instance. It would probably mean encapsulating a web browser in the plug-in. Could it be made to use commands from the remote to move the 'cursor' and select the desired show to be recorded? Then handle the little xml file & schedule the recording? Perhaps not...I've never really looked into the details on plug-ins. I think it would be great if there was a way to avoid downloading all the EPG data.

Mostly what I've gathered is people are leaning towards Titan which requires Hauppage ownership and living in the US. I guess I'll have to work on something myself since I'm in Canada and don't own a Hauppage product. Hopefully I'll find an hour or two in the next month Smile

Sorry, I'm not interested in going down that path. You guys in the US will need to find real listings like the rest of us. I'm sure some option will popup to give you listings - and it sounds like some of the developers here are well on the way to that.

Squid

I thought TitanTV was free anyway? At least it was when I signed up a couple of years ago...

Forgive me but not living outside the US, is there some sort of "zap2it" out there that you use ?
