I've searched the forums and could not find an answer to this. I'm having this problem on 3 computers all built the same. When I manual record a show,
or record from the TV Guide I have video, but the audio is just white noise.
If I'm in live TV and ctrl K to record I have both video and audio.
I'm using a pentium 4 3ghz, 2 ghz ram, ATI TV Wonder 650, ATI 1300 video card, Creative Audigy 2ZS sound card.
I have tried using different players and it happens in all players, so I'm sure it
is occuring in the recording and not playback.
Thanks.

I'm not really sure. Does the same card work fine (with audio) on other TV applications on same machine?

I'll take your word for it that it's a recording problem, but I didnt notice you're using an audio decoder that has caused problems in the past:

Yes I have audio when using live tv and if I ctrl k while in live tv the audio will record.
I'm using system default for audio recorder and system default for audio renderer.
Is there something better to try. I did try different setting for these but then I still had the same problem, plus, when I changed channels the audio would go out of sync with the video. This setting seems to keep the audio and video in sync.
Thanks

system default is usually fine for audio renderer, but its best to not use the system default audio decoder since this just tells Windows to pick some random one - which in your cases is this ligos audio decoder. Which ones do you have listed as options, and have you tried each of them?

Try using the 'MPEG audio decorder' option, then post the logs again if its still doing it.

BTW, is this the analog or digital side of the ATI 650?

It's on the analog side. I changed to "mpeg audio decoder" and recording now from the tv guide.

I'd try uninstalling that ligos decoder. It still seems to be trying to take part.
