So far, I have only ran across a couple of issues with 1.0.8. I exclusively use 3 MVP's in my house to access the server which sits in a closet in my basement (well ventilated) with 2 capture cards.
First issue is that the function of automatically skipping commercials using the comskip files. This seems to happen to recordings that were made before the upgrade and after. I run comskip during recording. The skipping seems to be just off. It appears that the commercial periods are all shifted forward, so during playback it will skip a portion of the program and start up in the middle of a commercial break.
Second issue is the FF and REW buttons on the remote do not seem to do anything during playback. Skip forward and back work fine though the "Manual Skip timebase" setting is still backwards (Seconds means Minutes and Minutes means Seconds). The buttons are registering, as the light on the MVP blinks when pressing the button and the buttons work correctly in the TV Guide.
Overall, very impressed! I hope we get a solution to the guide issue. What about starting a collaborative site that would allow users to enter data about programming in their area. You could sign up for the service for free as long as when it was your turn, you entered the program data for one channel for a week or something. I'd be game for development on something like this. Think there would be copyright issues if people are re-keying the data from the newspaper or TV Guide or whatever?
