Running Vista and when I use any decoder besides system default it crashes. I use my Nvidia decoder with Vista MCE without issue. When I use system default I have no idea what decoder is used. It appears to crash once it tries to start the decoder. On a side note it also starts recording the program. Very odd.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Does changing from the ffdshow audio decoder to something else help?

If not, what does the crash message say exactly? or is there a message in the Windows Event Viewer at the time the crash occurs?

Tried system default as the audio decoder and it still crashed making me believe the video decoder is the issue. I have tried NVIDIA and Intervideo NON CSS (this works for one channel, very poorly, but when I change channels it crashed). It just says PVRX2 has stopped working. Again also odd that it starts a recording.

System Event Log shows:

PVRX2.exe
1.0.0.0
00000022
MSVCR80.dll
8.0.50727.762
45712238
c0000005
0001507a
2d10
01c7c42fc9ca88ff

Not sure what MSVCR80.dll is but I bet you know Big Grin

Sorry, I dont know. I'm guessing its something funny about the directshow filters on your machine, but dont really know what exactly.

Appears it is part of the C++ 2005 runtime libraries.
