So far, I have only ran across a couple of issues with 1.0.8. I exclusively use 3 MVP's in my house to access the server which sits in a closet in my basement (well ventilated) with 2 capture cards.

First issue is that the function of automatically skipping commercials using the comskip files. This seems to happen to recordings that were made before the upgrade and after. I run comskip during recording. The skipping seems to be just off. It appears that the commercial periods are all shifted forward, so during playback it will skip a portion of the program and start up in the middle of a commercial break.

Second issue is the FF and REW buttons on the remote do not seem to do anything during playback. Skip forward and back work fine though the "Manual Skip timebase" setting is still backwards (Seconds means Minutes and Minutes means Seconds). The buttons are registering, as the light on the MVP blinks when pressing the button and the buttons work correctly in the TV Guide.

Overall, very impressed! I hope we get a solution to the guide issue. What about starting a collaborative site that would allow users to enter data about programming in their area. You could sign up for the service for free as long as when it was your turn, you entered the program data for one channel for a week or something. I'd be game for development on something like this. Think there would be copyright issues if people are re-keying the data from the newspaper or TV Guide or whatever?

I have the same issue, but no MVP. I looked at one of the log files and it says the framerate for the file was 25, when it should really be 29.97 or whatever it is for NTSC.

There was a patch posted in another thread that resolved this first issue. There was still a minor issue relating to it on the MVP (comskip breaks not showing up on very first attempt to play file), but it should mostly do the job.

Quote:Second issue is the FF and REW buttons on the remote do not seem to do anything during playback. Unfortunately there is no MVP FF/RW at this stage.

The patch seems to have corrected my Comskip problem as well....I also set the defaultfps tag to 29.97.

Now I have the new annoying bug of having to start the recording twice to get the comskip cuts to appear.....hope the fix for that makes it to the next patch or bug release.... Wink

I am also seeing this behavior on the MVP only. The cuts always show up on the PC, but they are hit and miss on the MVP. Restarting the playback sometimes brings them back, but not always.

Thanks for the great update SUB!!

The fix works for me and I only seem to have the missing commercial sections the first time I start playing a video. If I stop and restart, it is shown and if I play any other videos, it shows for them as well.

Try the attached patch to see if it fixes the problem with first MVP playback not working with comskip.

Backup your original file first though - I'm not 100% sure this patch is binary compatible with 1.0.8.
