Having problems with TSreader. Are there any other apps capable of recording a full transport stream?

BTW - the epg data came down correctly in seconds with TSreader ....

I'm not really sure. I dont have much first-hand experience with DVB-T since we dont use it here. I seem to remember some used dvbstreamexplorer to record full transport streams. I'm not sure if that is limited to DVB-S though.

Some manufacturers like twinhan etc provide (on their website) tools that can record transport streams for their own cards - I'm not sure if freecom do the same?

If it is any help I too have missing sections on ITV1 EPG for today and tomorrow. It seems to get better after that. About a month ago Channel 4 EPG went missing but seems to be OK again now. I suspect it is lack of data and nothing to do with GPVR.

Are you using TSReader Lite (the free version)? I seem to remember either that it doesn't record TS or it's limited to 60 seconds or something.

I used to use an old version of DVB Webscheduler but the latest version is 'paid for', I believe. If you can find a copy of the old open source version you could use that.

BTW - inheritthewind - where are you in the UK? I'm west of London and use Crystal Palace - if that's the transmitter you use, I can do some experiments to try and help fix things.

Cheers,
Brian

@bgowland

Sorry Cumbria - couple of miles from the border.
I've found a few apps that can do it, but a few have restrictions so I'll just have to work through them.

@JohnD

I'd be inclined to agree, but TSreader got the whole EPG down in no time at all. I understand that there might be differences in epg specs between the channels, but could there be between transmitters?

I should be able to get the stream recorded tonight.

Which transmitter do you use? There are a number that serve Cumbria.

Caldbeck is our main one, but I always have some missing channels (in all apps) unless I search 'UK All regions'. Channel4 comes from Caldbeck though.

Just managed to get a full TS, I think, from WebScheduler. It has a Full-TS record mode, got 210Mb - about 1:30min capture.

I'll up load it to the website tonight.

So when you used TS Reader you're entering 490MHz to tune to MUX 2 - right?

Could you do a scan using 'All Regions' and zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files? I can't remember which is relevant (the first I think).

BTW, this from http://www.ukfree.tv/shutdowndetail.php?tx=NY299425 for the Caldbeck transmitter...

MUX 2 that carries Channel 4 is 64 QAM and notoriously flakey on many transmitters - if they're doing on-going work at the transmitter, it might not be helping things.

Here are the config logs. I deleted the old ones, went into config, rescanned and updated the EPG.
I can't pretend I understand most of it, but there seems to be no mention of the channel in the epg update, either in the number of shows updated or skipped channel list.

Exactly that. And the EPG displays perfectly.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking for a transmitter specific website for ages.

Uploaded the TS stream to my website, now just have to work out why ftp has stopped working!
