All help really appreciated Sub (and others too).

Should have said - I'm using a Freecom USB-DVB stick too (ver 3). (GBPVR has always been much much better than TotalMedia s/ware supplied with the Freecom)

For what it's worth I'm on Mendip tx (West of England).

I did try increasing harvesttime to 120 with no joy.....but then it was OK with 0.99.05.

No time to play today but may have time at weekend to investigate recording ts.

Cheers

Ian

Yep. You've definitely got a problem - but I guess you already figured that. Wink

Just a guess but it's because you seem to have lost MUX C (Sky Three, UKTV History etc). When you say that TSReader loads the EPG data for Channel 4 in 'no time at all', do you get a full 7 days or just Now/Next?

Looking at your EPG update, you're also missing ITV4 from the following list...

Quote:2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] ParseDvbEpgXML returning 7
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel ITV1 : 210 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel ITV3 : 176 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel ITV2 : 232 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel CITV : 77 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel More 4 : 182 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel E4 : 140 shows
2007-07-26 22:25:16.109 VERBOSE [3] - channel Film4+1 : 90 shows

If I use TSReader to tune to MUX 2, I only get Now/Next info for Channel 4 and ITV4 - I have to tune to MUX C to get the full 7 day listings.

The reason I think you've lost MUX C is the following...

Quote:2007-07-26 22:17:13.859 VERBOSE [1] No signal detected at center frequency. Trying 166KHz offsets.
2007-07-26 22:17:13.859 VERBOSE [1] About to try +166KHz: C45,666166,0,0,8
2007-07-26 22:17:17.750 VERBOSE [1] About to try -166KHz: C45,665834,0,0,8
2007-07-26 22:17:21.609 INFO [1] Tranponder information for: C45,666000,0,0,8
<transponder>
</transponder>

sub - you remember what I found out about different MUXs carrying each other's EPG data either in full or partial form? If I lost MUX C now I wouldn't be able to get Channel 4 or ITV4 full EPG data either.

Hope that helps - brain hurts now. Smile

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah, I vaguely remember this. GB-PVR doesnt currently try to load the EPG for channels from other muxes, but I'll see if I can enable this.

OK - now I'm confused even more.

Unless I guessed wrong, if MUX C was available, then 'somehow' GB-PVR would have found the EPG data??? Trying to actively trawl the other muxes wouldn't help in this situation if a mux is unavailable.

There was a trial version for a while that did this, but it didnt work well, so was disabled again in the next release.

Just had a look in TSreader. You're quite right aboout the Now/Next data for Channel4. It's strange I didn't notice it before. It could be there was one of those marathon 6-hour 'Big Brother Live' feeds on fillinf the epg screen when I looked last time!

Also, in GB-PVR, ITV4 is present but missing it's EPG data (just like channel4). Looks like exactly the same problem, it only has now/next epg info in TSreader, just like channel4.

I'm not sure why it didn't show up in the logs. It's definately there in the channel line-up. Though in my experience, not all the channels are detected on the first scan, or even the second.

If its only transmitting the now/next listings, then GB-PVR will definitely not have any listings for these channels.

If you're wondering why you're not even seeing these now/next shows listed in the TV Guide after doing an EPG update, this is because the now/next listings come from a different place in the stream than the real listings. GB-PVR doesnt bother looking at the now/next data because its no very useful for scheduling recordings etc.

Yeah, makes sense.
Is there anyway of detecting which stream/mux the real epg is in?

Usually with DVB its in the same mux as the channel, but doesnt seem to be in this case, which is why GB-PVR isnt getting anything.
