* If Daemon tools isn't located in the default folder, you have to edit the path in config.xml. Changes done in config.exe is not saved. (I think this have been there a while, I have some recollection of editing this in the former version as well.)

* If I change TV-channel and I don't have permission to watch that channel (faulty subscription card or a channel not included in package) GBpvr freeze and Ctrl + alt + del is needed.

From memory, it does change when you use the browse button config app, its just that the dialog window that pops up always defaults back to the default path rather than the real path that you last entered. ie, if you change it in the config app, then look in the config.xml it should be changed.

Are you using the old GBPVR.exe interface? If so, then you need to be using the VMR9 Custom, VMR9 FSE or Overlay video renderers (Not regular VMR9 or VMR7). You need to be using these renderers because they are the only ones that allow OSD graphics to be updated on the screen while video is not playing. Using these you should see a message. Using VMR9 or VMR7 will give you something like you describe.

I did browse for it, selected and took OK. Then tried to select a image in pvrx2, but the same image came on. Did this a couple of times before I remember to change in config.xml.

The second one is also in pvrx2. Usually I use VMR9 custom, so my guess is that it was used now as well (can't check right now, because I do not have acces to that comp at the moment).

When I try to tune to a channel I dont have permission to watch, I get a popup window over the video saying that their is no signal or something similar, which goes away if I switch to a valid channel.

I had that as well, in the earlier installation. (reinstalled it today from scratch)
I'll try with different renderers and see what happens.

If you zip and attach your logs, I'll see if I can see any reason for it.

Can you confirm when you changed the daemon tools setting the config app that the setting was correctly saved to the <DaemonToolsExe> setting config.xml? I just tried it here, and its definitely saving my updates.

I changed it back to "daemon tools\daemon.exe" in config.exe, used the app to browse the right location (D-Tools in my case) elected OK, It says d-tools in the gray field. Take OK to save and close the app. Recordservice restarts.
OK. Open the app again: "\Daemon tools\daemon.exe" ones again. Only way for me to get it to work is by editing config.xml.

One more thing I just noticed. I must select the first virtual drive Daemon tools have. This as it always is on that one gbpvr mounts the image. But it do wait for the "dvd" on the one stated in the settings.

Checked my settings, VMR9 custom. What happened this time is that when I selected a channel I haven't permission for. All freezed for a couple of seconds (10-20 sec) then I were sent back to the main menu. (But dvd-shrink worked in the background, so it might have something to do with it)
Btw I do have all tv-stuff in a sub-menu, which also have some weird behavior for itself.

Thats not what I ask though. Try changing it in the config app, then look at the setting in config.xml to check that the setting is updated. I know if you go back into the config app and hit the browse button again it always defaults back to the original filename (but any change you make should be saved to the config.xml).

Come again?

config.xml is not updated when I press OK and close the app.

I have two virtual drives in my daemon tools; G: and H:. If I select "H:" in config.exe, The image is loaded in "G:" anyway. But GBpvr (pvrx2) waits for "H:" to be ready. I'll double check this behavior in the morning...
