sub Wrote:The device numbers only increase when you have multiple devices with the same name. You unfortunately have a mixture which can make it confusing.

I think your devices have the following names:

"Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
"Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
"Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "
"Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path1) "
"Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod"
"Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod"

Notice the nova-t 500 uses different names for each device, while the nova-t 90002 uses the same name.

So you end up with two "Hauppauge Nova-T (90002)" capture sources, set as device #1 and device #, since these both had the same names. You also end up with four capture sources for the Nova-T 500, each as device #1, since the name is different for each.

You're right, that is what shows up when i run ScanChannelsBDA_UK

Quote:6 BDA devices found.
Please select which device to use.
1. Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod
2. Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod
3. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0)
4. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path1)
5. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0)
6. Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1)
7. Exit
>

But i don't get different devices showing up in the GBPVR config app. I've also attached a screen dump of what i get in Device Manager. Does everything look okay? I'm guessing yes, as ScanChannelsBDA_UK picks them all up and they all scan to some degree. The screen dump in my earlier message is what i see in GBPVR config when i tick the box to only show detected devices.

What log file should i look at to see what GBPVR is detecting when i tick the box, or is there a seperate app within GBPVR that does the detection?

I've just rebuilt my GBPVR machine and this problem and the fact that the MVPs no longer connect are the only remaining issues.

Thanks for your help so far.

Turned out to be the Windows XP firewall stopping the MVPs communicating. :o

I just tried using the HVR-3000 that appeared on my list of detected devices and it works! I just tried watching LiveTV as i know that works from the bottom up and checked it in my Recording Status window.

So, from that i think GBPVR is incorrectly detecting my tuners. Is there anything in the logs i could look for that would confirm that? I have my logging level set to debug.

I now have 5 tuners, 2 from the 90002's 2 from one of the 500's and another from the other 500 which is "pretending" to be a HVR-3000.

I tried the HVR-4000 (DVB-T) that showed up in the detected devices, but it seems to think it's a satellite tuner!

Thanks.

I did add them one at a time and then ran the ScanChannelsBDA_UK program to make sure they were working, but i didn't run GBPVR each time.

I could try taking out the last tuner i added, which was the Nova-T 500 in PCI slot #1, and see if the HVR-3000 & HVR-4000 disappear.

Can't be bothered to do any more today. Just had lunch and am feeling a bit sleepy!

When you create a BDA capture source, and tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox, what devices does it show as a match?

Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

I suspect you'll need to add the following to bda.ini file

[Hauppauge Nova-DT #3 DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Nova-DT DVB-T Capture (Dev2 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge Nova-DT #4 DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev2 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Nova-DT DVB-T Capture (Dev2 Path1) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Then create your six capture sources

"Hauppauge Nova-T (90002)" as device #1
"Hauppauge Nova-T (90002)" as device #2
"Hauppauge Nova-DT #1 DVB-T" as device #1
"Hauppauge Nova-DT #2 DVB-T" as device #1
"Hauppauge Nova-DT #3 DVB-T" as device #1
"Hauppauge Nova-DT #4 DVB-T" as device #1

thanks, that seems to have done the trick. In terms of scanning the channels anyway, i've set up a 6 programme simultaneous test recording for tomorrow morning. Hopefully that's it sorted now.
