I have a problem, I installed 0.90 and when I go to "Search Guide" and select a show to record a error message pops up saying "Error: No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"
any ideas??

EDIT: I just went back and uninstalled gbpvr and also deleted every reference to it on my system and reinstalled. It seems to be working fine now [Image: smile.gif]

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Upgraded this morning from the version available from the download link at the home page. The only problem I am having is when I go to live tv or through the tv guide, I get no video only audio
I'd forgotten to update the main home page download link, so you're probably on the old version. The new version can be found at http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR0908.msi as described in the release announcement.
my apologies, what I meant was that I had been using the 2313 version and upgraded to the 908 version this morning and have tried rebooting, changing from VMR 9 to Overlay back to VMR 9, tried fresh install. But am still having the same issue of no video only sound.

Also when you exit out of GBPVR while in Live TV the Recording Service continues to record.

So far, after only 15 minutes of playing, just some minor problems. Flat Blue High Vis skin won't work but the others do (probably due to all the extra plugins in that skin). I do notice that there is almost no delay when playing at the same time my tv is playing where as there used to be a few seconds delay.
Also, it seems at times the video stops or stutters in full screen mode.
Need to play more but now gotta get the MVP on sale at Circuit City.

I can't quite figure out what is causing it but noticed when I rapidly change channels, the program begins to start background recording in 20,000K blocks when it settles in on the final channel. It will record then the screen will pause and it will start a new block until it gets to about that same size and it keeps on doing that. It is recording the show on the screen but is naming the file the same as one of the channels surfed. The only way to stop it is to shut it all down and start it back up. It is easy to see by watching the Live TV location while it is happening.

I have installed the program over the previous one and also done a fresh install to see if it replicates. It does. Again don't know the cause. I have tried changing settings in the configuration including the new live tv option with no success in causing it to behave differently.

All in all this is an exellent upgrade. Can't wait for a more stable version......

NICE WORK

just upgraded. I am using gb-pvr with a MVP. Must say the true transparency and the on screen guide while watching live tv is GREAT!

thanks for all the hard work.

Sub,
I recognize the problem we are having when we go from Live TV to time shifted live TV...

With the cards (or VCR's for that matter) there are options for Broadcast TV, and Cable TV... in the Live TV (no time shift) mode, you can only tune in channels that would appear in the broadcast (VHF) area... usually channels 0-28 or so... give or take... Anything above that tunes weird. Those channels on a regular TV would be called UHF channels... If you look on a really old TV, you'd see the distinction...

Once you go to the Live TV (with timeshift), the problem clears itself up, you get all the channels as though you cad the CAT-TV option selected.

Does this make sense? (oh yeah, I forgot, this would be how standard US stuff works... not sure how it operates in your neck of the woods...)

Also, as others have noted, the Live TV (without timeshift) seems to hitch.. in that, the audio seems good on my end, but the picture seems to kinda jump... like it's missing frames. Live TV (with timeshift) does not usually have this problem. Though sometimes, I have gotten it to jump like the non timeshift version.

I'd be surprised. The exact same tuning code is shared for live preview and timeshift modes.

For those with a stutter in live preview mode, you could try setting the deinterlace setting on the misc tab. Try 'encoder pass-through', it may help. Be warned though, this option was only added yesterday, and a couple of people have had problems with it.

Well, that's what it appears to do on this end.. it acts JUST like my VCR when I have it hooked up to cable, but don't have the "CAT-TV" option selected... I get all the channels around here, 5-13, (those are all that have stations on them) just fine, but if I try and get a cable station... 22, 25, 28 or whatever... you get the same type of display...

I just installed the new .90 version, after I uninstalled the previous ver. Now I lost my recordings! If I go to recordings/ready, there's nothing listed. When I reinstalled I set the folder to where my recorded TV is, but they don't list in GBPVR. Apparently the new version would have done an upgrade and preserved my recordings?
Is there any way I can get them listed in recordings again?

Thanks for a GREAT PVR, I've played with GAM and MediaPortal, but GBPVR beats them both!!
