Comskip not working so well now

My config has changed quite a bit the last few days and now my commercial detection is sucking. I just replaced a bad 150 with a new PVR-150MCE edition and upgraded from 99.5 to 1.08.

Can the new card need different comskip.ini settings due to different black values or something? The commercial detection was right on with the previous config.

Does anyone have a nice USA config with Comskip and 1.08? I would love to see your comskip.ini file as it seems most the users in the comskip forums are outside the US.

I record the Daily Show and Colbert daily so I have been using those shows as my base in trying to debug this.

I didn't change cards when I did my upgrade, but I have noticed that ComSkip is off a bit. Haven't had a chance to post about it, nor have I downloaded a newer version of ComSkip (if there is one).

Not sure if it is on "new" recordings I made after the upgrade. Being summer we don't use it much, so I haven't had the chance to check on it. Perhaps recordings made in 1.0.8 work better with ComSkip?

I haven't had a chance to really look into it, which is why I hadn't posted.

I haven't had any problems with comskip since sub posted a patch to PVRX2 related to the commercial skips not working properly. The GBPVR executable was working fine with the commercial skips, but not PVRX2.

Because every card is slightly different, and the connection you're using is probably better, the comskip settings for black frame detection will be different.
I find that I had to change settings when swapping cards, from my pvr500's to the 150's and 250's, and back.
Each card has slightly different quality of recording, and comskip can be sensitive enough to detect this.
In some cases I get more false detection, and in others I get much less.
To narrow down the issue, I used VideoReDo's ad detective on the same recordings, and got roughly the same outcome. It's all dependant on the recording quality.
The only other variance I noticed, was when new neighbours had the cable guy in, presumably to hook up new connections in their place, and my signal strength dropped a bit. A quick call to the cable co, and things are back to "normal".
