I have gbPVR installed and I am using the output from my satellite box on channel 4 as the input to the tuner (PVR150). I already have the irblaster working to change channels on the sat box, but gbPVR has the tuner on some other channel, so all I see is static.

Does anybody know where the setting for this is?

in the config app, goto captures source, then select the source you are using, click edit, and in the channels column change it to channel 4.

Well here is a weird twist. I went ahead and told it to record a show on satellite channel 2 and it actually worked. The problem seems to be limited to watching live TV.

I tried what you suggested (I think). What I did was switch all the channels listed in the EPG to point to channel 4 (by the way channel 4 did work before, but it was the only one). Now in live TV mode every channel shows the programing on channel 4 of the satellite. It seems that both the satellite and tuner channels are being controlled by this option. What I still need to do is find a way to make the tuner stay on channel 4 while the satellite changes to the appropriate channel.

I am using the Hauppage IR blaster app. Could this be the problem?

It sounds like you still need to change you capture settings.
Under the direct recording configuration tab - settings

Source Fixed Channel, External Tuner
And set you Constant channel to whatever you box is putting out.

Don't change anything in the channel changer part, it sounds like that is working.

Well, this is a problem for me since upgrading to version .9.

Prior to the upgrade, this worked fine. I have a DishNetwork sat dish and a PVR350. My sat box is outputting to channel 4. GB-PVR config for the PVR350 Direct Recording is set for Fixed Channel, External Tuner and Constant Channel = 4. When I run GB-PVR and watch live TV, I can only watch Channel 4 on the sat. If I go up to channel 5 (or any other channel), both the sat and the PVR350 tuner get changed to Channel 5, so I get static. It does not appear to be holding the PVR350 tuner on a constant channel (4).

I did not change my config, simply upgraded. Anything I can try, or should I revert back down? I can use the EPG on my sat temporarily.

Thanks in advance.

Yep same problem for me also, upgrading to .908
I have 2 external tuners and likewise used the "fixed chanel, External tuner option" both of which operate in earlier versions .0214 &.02313. However once upgrading or doing a clean install the channel doesn't remain fixed. Once downgrading to overcome this problem(which it does) I come up against the problem of no EPG being displayed.

As I can't see a whole lot of postings on this topic, I'm wondering whether there is very few people with external tuners or something else is going on. The only possibly unusual configuration method I've used is with the freq2reg.exe and
freq2xml.exe files to tune the Free to Air channels.

Any ideas anyone?

Yes, this problem with the "fixed chanel, External tuner option" is a known bug in this release. I'll provide a fix in the next couple of days. I've only found a couple of hours development since the last release, so I just havn't had time to turn around a fix yet.

Maybe everyone is using "S-Video, Fixed Channel" or "Composite Video, Fixed Channel" which by-passes the internal tuner, I think.
I'm currently have the same issue so I'm looking forward to the patch.
