HI ... Is there poss to add support for "Kworld Plus HD 115 QAM" card, this Kworld 115 does work now in GBPVR for atsc ota, set as Kworld 110, (atsc ota input is 1st antena plug, cable Qam & analog input is 2nd antena plug).

http://www.kworld.com.tw/product_overview.aspx?P_id=47

Ok, i know from reading here that you need info from Kworld .... so generally what info? I'll attempt to contact them to try to start dialog about details. (you likely need info re how to access Qam input via the 2nd antena plug, vs the Atsc antena plug ?, along with Reg data info and or ?)

I'm asking because i have the Kworld 115 card (Qam works great in the bundled TotalMedia3), & I also now have the HVR-1600 card, ... 1600-Qam installed & worked fine in GBPVR, cool Smile

BUT, Kworld 115 card seems to display/view HD QAM stations/chanels much better than the HVR-1600, ... *NONE* of the video & audio skipping, or video pixelization that the HVr-1600 has, (same as others mention re the HVR-1600). TotalMedia3 is ok, but lacks some that GBPvR has. (one feature good to add would be 16x10 aspect ratio choice, since typical pc lcd widescreens are 16x10 for full screen)

--------------------------
on side note:

I experimented trying the HVR-1600 in TotalMedia3 (supported??), which already had the Qam channels scanned, setup & saved for the Kworld 115. The HVR-1600 tuned & worked great for live Qam, analog, and recording, (aside from same video/audio skipping it does in Wintv & GBPVR). BUT ...The HVR-1600 causes fatal error (re)Scanning for channels in TotalMedia3, so a person would need to have already previous Scanned/saved for Qam channels with a supported card as in my case. (just mentioned this as there may be some similar concepts in adding support for Kworld 115, as were req for HVR-1600 although diff details involved?) , (would there be enough info/details in my Reg & system? vs contacting Kworld).

Note also for HVR-1600:
only the drivers ("HcwDriverInstall.exe" from "cd_3.4d1.zip") need to be installed for it work work in GBPVR. None of the other 1600's software or WinTv6 is needed. ok ok ... install the "IR32.exe" also Smile

Also, tried using Kworld 115 in GBPVR, which was already set up with Scanned Qam channels & EPG data via prev setting up GBPVR for HVR-1600 Qam, result error re incorrect card. So then tried Config and just changing the BDA device to "Kworld115 Qam" (added in bda.ini), versus removing and re-adding a bda device, and thus all the Pre-scanned channels & EPG were still present in the Map Digital Channels to EPG screen, result no pic or sound, & in the logs - no signal detected or locked (didnt notice any other obvious errors in logs). Would guess in part that Config was attempting to get signal from the 1st Atsc antena input plug, instead of the 2nd Qam Antena input. (am i restating the obvious?)

And ... why does Direct Recording Device "have to be" on-board mpeg encoding card, just for viewing analog cable tv channels in GBPVR ??? (or does it?) ... I tried setting additional device in direct.ini for Kworld 115 analog with all the correct details, & then changing to that device in Config, but nothing displayed tuning to pre-setup analog channels in GBPVR. Choosing the added analog Kworld 115 device in TuningAssistant works and finds/displays the analog channels ... maybe again this needs adding to NativeUtilities.dll or? to access the correct signal input ?? hummmmmm.

well this turned into likely too much info, than the orig question, whew.

Thanks for reading, Wink

(should this be in the Support section vs here?)

Can you run FilterCheck then attach the resulting FilterCheck.log: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

Ok, got the Analog cable (Direct Recording Plugin device) working.

The "deinterlacing" in Config was set to "encoder pass through" prev, and changing to any of the other choices alows Analog cable to display live.

so, for "Kworld plusHD 115" (& prolly Kworld 110 also) add a device in direct.ini & use this ...

[KWorld HD 1500 (Analog)]
INIT_MODE=DEFAULT
INIT_MSP=0
FILTER_CROSSBAR=713x BDA Analog Xbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=713x BDA Analog Capture
FILTER_TV_TUNER=713x BDA Analog TV Tuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=713x BDA Analog TV Audio
FILTER_ENCODER=BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audioinput
PIN_CAPTURE_I2S_OUT=I2S
PIN_CAPTURE_656_OUT=656
PIN_ENCODER_OUT= "no onboard encoder, leave blank ??"

Should "PIN_ENCODER_OUT=" be blank, Mpeg, mpeg2 ts, or that line not used at all, or what can be used, or how to indicate software recording be used ??

You could try adding the following:

Quote:[KWorld ATSC-115 (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=713x BDA ATSC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=713x BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
If it doesnt work, I suspect you're out of luck though.

You wont be able to record. The encoder is required for recording. I dont think this device has the required hardware MPEG2 encoder on the analog side.

Yeah, thats how i have it set now ... so for now, it isnt going to work.

Looking at logs and in Reg .... its now using Tunning Spaces #3 "Local ATSC Digital Antenna", setting up for qam256, but no cable Tv signal found (cause digital cable is on other RF plug).

Looks like it prolly would need to use either #4 "Local ATSC-Style Digital Cable" , or maybe even (the way this card installs) #9 "KWorld DVBT", for this to work for qam.

More to it than just that i realize ...

i'll try and get motivated to contact Kworld ...LOL

Hi I just found this thread and wanted to post my results. I just started using GBpvr a couple of weeks ago. (It is GREAT, BTW!.) I have both the HVR 1600 and the K-World 115 and have been using the 115 w/composite input - w/software plugin and the 1600 for QAM. Since I couldn't do web scheduling with the software recorder plugin for the 115, I started experimenting with changing them. I never got the 115 to scan for QAM channels but had no problem using the scanned channels settings from the 1600 to get the 115 to work in GBpvr (switching capture cards after scan.)

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get both the 1600 and the 115 to get QAM at the same time time - the 115 seems to 'break' the 1600 QAM reception. The coax inputs are off the same splitter and when I disconnect the 115 - the 1600 works again (after reboot).

My bit problem is getting the 1600 to work for composite or s-vid inputs. I'd like to use the 115 for QAM and the 1600 for composite in.
