Tweaked 1.0.16 skin for MVP

As detailed here, I had a little trouble with the default skin on the MVP. Attached is a tweaked skin that basically just bumps up the button font a notch, makes the description bigger on the show, and makes the guide text a bit bigger. It's not much, but helps on my TV with the MVP (and it's 32"). Note that one thing is a bit different. For TVGuideChannelHeaderType=1 (in config.xml) it shows icon and number instead of number and name. I thought that looked better and the icon has the name anyway. If you don't use that the names on the guide might wrap since I shrank that column some to allow more room for the show boxes.

Sorry, but the file is too big to upload, so it's on a file share. If this is more interesting than I expect something else can be done.

Do you know if it's possible to do something similar with the Recording/Video/Music listings? 10+ feet away on a 27" TV is brutal :p. Also the pop-up window with the show info.

Here's a version with ALL fonts enlarged to at least 14pt (the regular blue skin has lots of 10-12 pt fonts). Works well on my regular 27" tv, where the default fonts were almost impossible to read.

It only has the updated XML files, step-by-step instructions for making a skin directory from it (basically copy the blue directory and copy & paste this on top) are in the zip.

If you need fonts bigger than 14pt, search through all the files in this archive after your extract it and any place there is "<TextStyle " (without the quotes), change the size attribute to something bigger. There are maybe 20 places in the various xml files, its pretty easy to do.

Thanks, I really appreciate it too. Now it is possible to use my old CTR TV again.
However, I wonder how Gb-pvr handles text that is not defined for a certain plugin. I use the old RSS news reader. See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...t=rss+news
It is working perfectly fine via MVP, but because the news plugin is not supported in the blue plugin Gb-pvr shows the small fonts. I guess it does so because gb-pvr use default fonts if nothing is defined.
In the MVP optimized blue skin there is no small fonts anymore, but still RSS news shows the text with small font.
I have tried to add these lines from the skin files from the old blue skin to baseskin.xml assuming that baseskin.xml controls the default values, but that didn't change anything:

If the RSS plugin is hardcoded to use specific fonts, then its unlikely there is anything you can do about it other than contacting the author of this plugin.

Unfortunately the RSS plugin is not maintained anymore. However, most skins I tried during the last two years were able to control the apearance of the RSS reader, so i doubt that the font is hardcoded.
I only hope that some day someone will make a new RSS reader for the new release of Gb-pvr, or just update the existing one which was actually perfectly fine.
