so the fact that I can see it rules out your output stage from video card --> tv.

It looks to me like some kind of electrical interference either getting onto the coax (coax cables should cross power cables at 90 degrees and not run parallel to them IIRC) or the noise is being generated inside the pc by a fan or cheap power supply.

Thank god someone can see it now. I know what you're saying about how it looks. The power supply is an Antec Smartpower 2.0 500 watt which is supposed to be a pretty nice PSU. As far as the other fans I'm not sure if they could be having an effect. Should I try disconnecting fans and seeing if the problem goes away? I have 2 120mm fans in the case as well as the GPU fan, a 120mm fan in the power supply, and an artic cooler freezer 92mm fan on the CPU. The coaxial cable probably crosses a few power wires, I'll see if I can reroute it. I'm also going to order some heavily shielded cable.

I agree w/ gEd

I was getting that effect when my power was too low. It's also not just ahving too little power, it can be a cheap power supply w/o a good steady flow.

Don't blow money on a PSU until you've tried everything else, but it can be a cause. Get a decent, name-brand PSU from newegg w/ decent reviews. Doesn't need to be overkill, just reliable.

the antec should be good (unless it has a fault!).

yes, disconnect all the fans that you can and leave the lid/side off. also put the tuner in the slot furtherest away from the graphics card, psu and other potential sources of interference.

as I mentioned earlier, try a single coax from the wall, removing any signal amps, splitters.

It's an Antec Smartpower 2.0 SP-500 500W so it's not a cheap PSU. Unfortunately I can't move my tuner card because it needs to be in a PCI-E which sucks, I wish I had gotten the PCI version instead. It's right on top of the graphics card, literally the slot right next to it. Can you put a pci-e card in a pci-e x16 slot? My board is SLI and I only have 1 card so I could separate the cards that way. It'd be 2 slots away rather than only 1.

I think you can but I haven;t built a PCI-e system yet. I would have thought that if it fits, it should work but that's just a guess.

I'm pretty sure it has a good chance of working so I'm going to check it out. Is one slot away going to make any difference? Is there some kind of shielding I could buy?

I have no idea (we're not even 100% sure that this your problem at the moment).

q1 do you have a ups inline on your power supply ?
q2 have you removed the ampolifier and anything else inline from the arial ?
(can you direct link your arial with no other connections)
q3 is it on all stations?

What's a ups inline?

I haven't removed the amplifier and splitters yet, it'd be a bit of a task but i'm going to try that next

It's worse on some stations than others.

I'm not trying to hyjack this thread, but read it from the beginning out of curiousity.
I've seen the clip, saw the problem, exported an image sequence to see the freqency and I must agree it's most likely electrical interference.
Maybe a longshot but..... can it have something to do with grounding ?
Or bad/no grounding ? If the PC is grounded, try removing it. This is not something you want to use forever but just as a test.
