It should work if the LCD is from iMON but I have only tested it on the 2 line 16 character VFD.

Hi skate15e, good work.
But as another user said, DVD playing is not working when this plugin is present (when DVD is selected, the focus goes back to gbpvr menu, but audio from the dvd is heard, so it seems it's playing but on the background). I think this is related to the fact that I use MS IRblaster for my remote, using iMon only for the VFD display. Cheers.

Hello,
Great plugin however DVD does not work when using PVRX2. See this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28765 /Oscar
I will take a look at it in the next couple of days...thanks for pointing this out.
Two questions, which version of the plugin are you using? Can you translate the error you are getting? This will help me pinpoint the problem. I tried my system tonight with the plugin installed and it worked just fine.

Here is the latest update.
Change Log: v0.81 Fixed a problem with fetching the DVD information for display. v0.8 Only displays the video/recorded show title (removes .mpg, .avi, .dvr-ms and the date time for recordings). Displays when the machine is currently recording with the number of recordings occuring, i.e. "R2". Changes the display when the machine goes into standby and wakes up. v0.75 Added ability to monitor hard drive and warn when the is below a user specified threshold. Must be setup on the config screen. v0.7 iMONVFD can be configured under GBPVR Config on the plugin screen. The options include how the 1st line of text will scroll and setting the default display.

The LCD (96x16 pixels) and VFD (16 x 2 lines) from Soundgraph are different and require different drivers. I had taken one of Skate15e's original versions to get it working with the SoundGraph LCD, but I've been diverted from this and it if far from ready to be published. A limited API for the LCD can be found at http://imonapi.tripod.com/. There is also support for LCD Smartie here and here

I just tried using this plugin today and it is the only plugin on my system. If I run PVRX2 with "Plugins Enabled" from the Config application and attempt to watch a recoding, the screen stays black and I get no audio. Looking at the logs, it appears to have thrown some errors.
If I turn off the plugin by unchecking "Plugins Enabled", it does play the video correctly. I have attached logs of both cases. I also made the following observations, but they aren't in the logs. If plugin is enabled:

Here is a driver (based on sakte15e and ralphy code) that will work for both VFD and LCD displays... and supports clock display or turning off the display on shutdown/standby.
NOTE: you MUST have version 5.1 or greater of the sg_vfd.dll in your windows\system32 directory! Install the driver by skate15e, then copy the DLL in this zip over top of the one installed. Run config and set yor display type and shutdown preference before you load the UI. dslowic: try this driver and see if the exceptions go away... I discovered that when the UI loads, it calls the drivers constructor twice... the first time it is called, the display is initialized and all the state variables are set.... Then the constructor is called again (a second instance of the driver is created... but the display is already initialized, so it exits without initializing... BUT gbpvr still uses this second instance to control the display... thus the exceptions... I have changed the contructor to reinitialize the display if is already initialized. this should solve the exception problem... (at least I don't see them on my system any more). Regards, cybrmage

Here is a fixed version of the uplugin.
fixed: DVD not playing bug. (plugin is based on skate15e's 0.8 source... before the DVD fix.. oops) fixed: LCD would turn on when disabled in the plugin. added: LCD icon control. plugin tries to display speaker configuration and media status using the custom icons on the LCD Regards, cybrmage |
