Looking around and playing with the remote, I don't see any way to move the current time pointer around during playback of a recording, other than the skip buttons, which is not good enough if I want to move 3-quarters of the way into a 3-hour recording. Is there a way to grab the time pointer, kind of like what you can do in WinDVD or Media Player? Or can you use the remote to key in a time target like you would on a DVD player? This would primarily apply to playing through the MVP, as I almost never use the PC interface for playback.

I've noticed this option is missing as well.

To avoid hassle i usually watch my recordings on windows media player or ATI's file player...

Also everytime i fast forward, i can't get it to play at regular speeds in gbpvr anyways and i always lose audio. So i've been doing it this way for a while now.

You should be able to enter the number of minutes you want to move in with the remote and then hit the skip button. Thats what I do and it works really well. You need to be pretty fast entering in the numbers and then hit the skip button and away you go.

Hope this helps,

Gett my hauppauge remote working is another issue,w hich is what i am reading on right now. Thank goodness there are ppl writing guides on what to post in the irremote.ini.

But there's always a lag when i enter a command with my remote...not sure if this will work for me.

in the mean time i will still use media player to watch my recordings.

I'll try the numbers-and-skip routine. Using media player is not an option, I want to watch on TV through the MVP.
