I'll look into this when i get home.

All these forums issues and I never saw most of these replies. I'll look into them all ASAP (later this evening).

dwpoet Wrote:I'm still using 98.13 and have switched from zap2it to YAmi2xml. I remap OTA channels to a cable provider. If I update my old db3 file to save recordings there is a problem that must be related to GBPVR.

In Config, I edit capture source, empty EPG, and remove all channels, then in channels tab, Remove unreferenced channels. There are 4 channels that will not go away. In the TV Guide, those 4 channels appear out of order, after the others.

Also, using zap2it, channel numbers plus call letters appeared in the TV Guide. With YAp12xml, channel numbers do not appear. I've tried Options 2, 4 and 6.

Can you attach your ini files so I can see what you did? Your 4 channels may be related to Wakala's bug.

EDIT: Actually I'm thinking the channels are referenced because you have recordings, the way I fixed it was to do this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...2XML#toc11

HarryH3 Wrote:It does appear to be a problem on Yahoo's end. I kept getting the "all retries failed" error, but about 24 hours later it suddenly started working. The daily update has also worked correctly yesterday and today. Smile

Yea, it seems that Yahoo doesn't always create all of them or starts creating it once its requested. I've been recommending everyone wait, I guess I'll increase the wait time from 6-12hrs to 24-48hrs.

So I set up Yapi2xml just like the guide. Everything seems to work fine, but I have one small problem. The epg has the correct channels, but the program info is all wrong. Like it will say "mtv - real world" but what is really playing is "mtv - trl"

is there anyway that I can fix this small problem? Thank you.

Does it appear to be off by a set amount of time (hours)? Like go 2 hours to the right or left and see if the correct show appears there.

Wakalaka Wrote:BUG: some unchecked channels are being put in the EPG. My INI file:

Channels 4, 11, 17, 23, 31, and 33 are in the EPG but are unchecked in the app.

I loaded your ini onto my computer and just did a run epg. I then opened the xml file and did not find a reference to any of those channels or any of the other ones you had unselected. Are you sure its not rements from the zap2it guide? Reccomend following these steps:
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...2XML#toc11

Also, if you open the xml file (Yahoo.xml for you) with wordpad you should be able to see the channels listing at the top, if the channels are in there that is odd and I'll have to do more experiments.

EDIT: If you do a load setting then save setting with your lineup it will mess up your channel lineup, so if you do that open the ini file and remove the initial comma after channels= . I'll release the fix tomorrow.

I remapped channels and then ran get EPG with those options and each time I got channels with their names. If you open the xml file its creating copy the channels into a reply so I can see what it is doing, it should look similar to
Code:
<channel id="0003">
    <display-name>3 KATU</display-name>

It seems to be fixed now. I ran your app with update param, Empty EPG on both Capture Sources, then Update EPG on one of them, and it's happy now. When I had the problem I did look at the resulting XML file, and it did have channels 4,11,17,23,31,33 in the file.

Suggestion: allow user to define new show character.

Edit: obviously didn't quite get to this with all the other bugs, it is odd that changing that didn't change the EPG. I will definitely test it later in the morning today.

Hey Oz,

Was wondering if you ever had a chance to load my EPG or if you had any other ideas. Thanks

Just did a test. I did the following to test:
1. Emptied my EPG
2. Removed all my tuners
3. Restarted the config program
4. Removed all unreferenced channels
5. Added one of my tuners
6. Downloaded your EPG
7. Loaded that file as my own
8. Updated the EPG
9. Started gb-pvr
10. Used the discovery channel to check at 12:06 PST
11. My guide said it should be How It's made - boats, yours said the same thing

This is definitely something with your GB-PVR setup. I'm not really sure what though. What is your computer time zone set to?

Any specific reason why? What character would you use? If I do include it I'll probably make it a manual ini edit since I can't see a lot of people using it.
