It's a heck of an echo... it took 43 days to reverberate back. Wink

I installed GB-PVR just last weekend (and I love it), but last night I started experience the "freezing problem" as well. At one point I had Explorer open in my LiveTV directory, and I noticed that after the freeze the directory looked like I was flipping through the channels still.

It looked to me like LiveTV was continuing to change channels. I had just been watching South Park and was trying to switch to The Weather Channel when the freeze happened. My LiveTV directory started showing filenames like 700 Club, Paid Programming and etc. Oddly every file it added after the freeze had a 0 byte file size. I had not watched any of the programs that where being displayed on the system (ever). This continued for ~5 minutes before I rebooted the system.

I realized that I was hitting only the channels numbers when changing channels. From then on I have been hitting OK (or Enter) to complete the channel change (as opposed to just enter 99 and waiting). I have not experienced a freeze since.

Hope this helps.

Same problem here. I can watch recorded things fine on the client. But when I select Live TV it crashes. The live TV stream is created on the server and I can see it grow in size. However, the client hangs and nothing is displayed. I have to kill the task to get it away.
I run 99.12.

Exact same thing is happening here. I'll try some of the fixes suggested:

- Different Decoder
- Dialing Channel Number and hitting Enter

Very frustrating!

Kangaborg reported here that increasing ClientModeLiveTVPrePlayDelay in config.xml helped them out:confused:

same problem here. have seen this thread too late and openend another one. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=29400

update: setting ClientModeLiveTVPrePlayDelay to 5000 helped a bit but still led to freeze. setting to 10000 does fix the problem for me (even with cyberlink decoder)! did about 10 channel changes and pvrx2 is still up and running Smile

thx turas

I have 2 clients running vista prem and one ulta 64 bit. The only one it doesn't freeze is the 64 bit. The other 2 will always freeze once the channel change. I have tried everthing from cyberlink to Nivida decoder change delay times nothing seems to help. The setting are the same in the 64 bit machine and it works fine.
