Great timing, thanks-- I'll try it.

I did get the first pvrx2-compatible version to work once but then updates failed after a day.

Where does the config data (zip code, minutes between updates) live? If I'm having trouble I'd like to wipe it.

Do you know if MSNBC would block my access if updates were too frequent? I usually set it to 30min if there is a front coming through, I like the radar.

Did you remove the need to have VA installed for the updates to work (a while back that was an issue, but I think you changed that).

The config data sits in the main confg.xml file. You should be able to delete the zip codes through the config program and not need to manually edit the file. I have the VA plug-in installed on my machine. I think I have removed the dependencies, but I did not reconfirm that for this build. I don't know if MSNBC blocks access. Every 30 minutes doesn't seem too often.

Well, playing around a bit, it seems to be just my zip code, also the longer code for it that msnbc shows if I go to their site directly. Sorry to not check this before, but I thought I was seeing the problem you mentioned earlier.

If I put in the zip code for Ann Arbor (go Ducks! it comes right up in seconds; also for a couple others. If I put the zip code 48198 in, it just sits there, never finishes. I tried loading 48105 before 48198 but that didn't help, 48105 loads, switching to the weather screen for 48198 the screen is stopped with the "downloading" message.

The city name that goes along with that zip code is an unusual spelling, but unless it matches some sort of stop codon for your plugin I can't think that would make a difference!

Anyway I'll leave it set up with the both name of a neighboring city and mine, and I'll check to see if mine ever works; but it is strangely repeatable for me.

Do you scrape the info from their regular web page or do they have a feed set up? Could the city name mess up the scrape?

I added your zip code (48198) to my list and it working fine for me assuming that it is supposed to be for Ypsilanti MI, which is what I get back). If you post your gbpvr log file I can take a look.

What are the latest changes to the weather plugin? Just fixes or is there new features?

No major fixes that I recall. The strings are now translatable, which was a request made on the Developer's forum thread.

OK, here is the log. Other zip codes work fine, the one breaks. I tried changing the order in which the working/nonworking zip codes load with no change.

edit: I'm going to replace the error log with a better one, with both zip codes loading. I notice a different URL being composed for the zip code that breaks; I'm not sure why.

hi there, love the weather plugin - unfortunately something is not quite right for me.

i live in falmouth, uk (http://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:10691)
if i put in wc:10691 the url looked for is wc:wc:10691, similarly it fails if i look up falmouth, gbr (it changes the format of the search string again) or if i put in:UKXX0806.

Any ideas what i should put in as if i search using the gui the nearest town it finds is 200 miles away...

Shouldn't you just put in 10691 without the wc: bit ?

UK seems strange, some codes are UKxxxxx while others are just numbers :confused:
