note: for the new versions of GB-PVR to see plugins the dll files have to be in sub folders of drive:/program files/gbpvr/plugins/

Yeah, they're installed properly - I can't even see the PVRx2 compatible plugins that were installed correctly using their install routines (For instance the latest PVRx2 Weather is missing in action when it comes to the menu or config, although it's in drive:/program files/gbpvr/plugins/weather).

I wonder if the config xml got hosed somehow? Does GBPVR rebuild it if you rename or delete it?

I see what happened now; somehow I must have unchecked the "Plugins Enabled" checkbox. I never even noticed this checkbox before, and in case others make the same mistake I have added some keywords in the title so it's easier to find.

Now to solve the WebCams!

OK, so here's where I'm at with the WebCams2 plugin.

1. Verified the existence of C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\blue\WebCams2\skin.xml AND
C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Community3\webcams2\skin.xml

2. Plugin is in subfolder off Plugins named "WebCams2" which contains the .dll and the XML file.

3. Copy of XML file is in the Plugins directory

4. Plugin shows up in config and options can be accessed and changed without errors

5. Plugin shows up on PVRx2 with EITHER skin

6. When I execute the menu item, I get an unhandled exception error. If I press continue (not like I have a choice...) the interface skin goes blank as shown in attached screen shot. (This happens with EITHER skin)

Logs are attached...

I'm using the Community Skin d/l'ed on 9/10 and the Blue skin with GBPVR 1.0.16.

Do you have the file C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Community3\GBPVRUIElements\Dialog.xml ?

If not you can get the skin files for blue here: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Devel...UiElements

Well this got me closer; at least no unhandled exceptions. But what I DO get using CSkin3 is:
1. A skin with big red X's
2. All webcams are blank no matter which one I choose
3. All the webcam names overlay each other - in other words, as I move from Webcam 1 to Webcam 2, the name of Webcam 2 appears overlaid on Webcam 1. Each subsequent name gets added and overlaid on the others.

I double checked the cams and they're operational.

I've attached a screen shot to illustrate the overlaid names...

Under PVRx2 Blue (default) I still experience an unhandled exception.

BTW, I appreciate the time you're spending with me on this McBain. It's all that's standing between me and chucking GBPVR altogether at this point. I'd consider Myth, but I rely on a wireless connection and it's even more painful to get WiFi working under Linux.... If I could get this and the RSS reader working again, I'd at least have SOME of my original functionality back.

If you go to the properties of the WebCams dll what version does it report it is?

It looks like the plugin may need some changes for PVRX2 - I need to look into the skin files first as it is behaving very odd (its not just your machine as all I can say at this time).

Version 2.3.0.0 dated 3/14/2007 4:29 PM.

The fact that it's not just my machine is comforting enough at this point, McBain...please let me know if I can help in testing or providing more info.

Installed the webcams pluugin and I love it. I've entered the webcams from some ski pistes in it. I want to see how they are doing on the snow.. You've guessed it. I love to ski and going at least 3 times a year.

The trick is that the webcams keeps refreshing the image even when the sun is down. What I would like to have is a scheduled archive moment per webcam.

That way I can set the archive time at 16:00 and when I come home and want to look at the webcam I can see the archive foto instead of a dark picture of a ski piste with maybe the lights of a snow machine... Big Grin
