I have caught myself searching the threads for an answer to my problem but mau have overlooked. I am using Version 1.0.16 with msn_xmltv_scraper. All seems to be working well though I have no channel names, only numbers. I have changed <TVGuideChannelHeaderType>0</TVGuideChannelHeaderType> from 0 to all numbers suggested. What should I do?

I believe "3" is what you want to show the text name from the listings.
(was just a few letters for me)

make sure that when you change it you save the config.xml, then restart PVRX2.
if that still doesnt work, try restarting the recording service.

I'm guessing there is something wrong xmltv file you're trying to feed into GB-PVR. All the <TVGuideChannelHeaderType> settings show channel names.

I have two channel sources; cable and satellite. I have 3 xml files in the scraper directory. One self titled for each of the sources and one called system. I assumed I should use each one individually as I have two capture sources set up in the pvr config. The information is in the xml files though I don't think it is the correct order for GBPVR.

Its because your xmltv files has the first display-name without the name being part of the um name. GB-PVR always uses the first display-name as the name for the channel.

Code:
    <channel id="ID28458145">
[b]        <display-name>14</display-name>[/b]
        <display-name>14 HBO</display-name>
        <display-name>Cable</display-name>
    </channel>
    <channel id="ID28458198">
[b]        <display-name>15</display-name>[/b]
        <display-name>15 WAGA</display-name>
        <display-name>15 (WAGA) FOX</display-name>
        <display-name>Cable</display-name>
    </channel>

I chnged the header type to 3 and now have the channel numbers twice.

Thats because it's showing your channel number next to the channel name, but your channel name happens to be the channel number...hopefully that makes sense.

Problem solved!! For all those who may encounter problems that seem impossible to fix, remember, the devil is indeed in the details. My command line for downloading the xml data was missing the /c switch. I have struggled in a sea of self doubt over two keystroke placed appropriately. My kingdom for a /c!! Thanks for all your help!!!

speaking of channel names...

this thread got me looking into my zap2it.xml file.

I see this
Quote:- <station id="18327">
<callSign>DHC</callSign>
<name>Discovery Health</name>
<affiliate>Satellite</affiliate>
</station>
- <station id="10171">
<callSign>DISN</callSign>
<name>Disney Channel</name>
<affiliate>Satellite</affiliate>
</station>
- <station id="11150">
<callSign>DSC</callSign>
<name>The Discovery Channel</name>
<affiliate>Satellite</affiliate>
</station>

all my listings and recordings list the CALLSIGN, but I would love to have the NAME in those places.

is there a way to do that??
