Per the v1.0.16 survival guide, I downloaded the Schedules Direct patch When attempting to unzip into the GBPVR folder, I am receiving a request for a password in order to replace the existing file.
any help greatly appreciated.

There is no password on the file. Are you using Vista? That would be the User Access Control and you need to enter your Windows password that has administrative priviledges.

i believe this problem is because you must stop the gbpvr recording service to overwrite the file.

I am having the same problem with it asking for a password. I am not running Vista I have XP. I am not running GBPVR and when it asks for the password my admin password doesn't work. Please help.

If you are not rujnning GB-PVR then you don't need the patch.

Do you mean GB-PVR is not running when you try to update. That probably means that the GB-PVR Recording service and/or the tray app is still running.

Stop the recording service and close the tray app. If you are still having trouble, log in as adminstrator and try that. Also you could start the computer in Safe Mode...

I took Zehds advice, started Windows in Safe Mode, then copied the Scheduled Direct patch into the GBPVR file, and rebooted. SUCCESS!! The EGR updated, the TV Guide is populated, and all seems right w/ the world..........so far!
Thanks for the help.

I removed and than reinstalled the program. I than did the update before starting the new program. All is working properly. I think starting in safe mode would have been easier however, the removal and reinstallation of the program was fine with me.
