I have a HP Nova-T (connexant 90002) and can watch live TV but can not record.

When recording a scheduled program all I get is a zero byte mpg file. The recording never ends - I have to kill the scheduler manually.

I can watch live TV but when I turn off the preview checkbox and it tries to write into the TV buffer directory I get the same behaviour - a zero length mpg and recording never stops.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Do you have the required Intervideo or Cyberlink Mux on your machine? If not, you'll get the behaviour you describe.

Did you get any warnings when you mapped the channels in the config app?

Fair dinkum that is the fastest reply to a support query I've ever seen! Now THAT'S sevice. [Image: smile.gif]

I honestly have no idea about any Intervideo or Cyberlink Mux (or even what they are). Where can i get them from so I can install them?

I'll have to map the channels again to see if there were any warnings.

Dont bother, the warnings will just tell you that you need either the Intervideo or Cyberlink Mux. The warnings were there for a reason...

The Intervideo mux is part of WinDVD Creator. I cant remember exactly which software contained the Cyberlink mux (Some KWorld video software (v5), and several other software products). I cant tell you where to download them, since they are parts of commercial software, but another user may be able to help you out.

If you go with the Cyberlink mux, try to get version 5.

I also get the 0 size mpegs, but no Live TV either. I don't remember seeing the warning about Intervideo or Cyberlink Mux. Would these install with either PowerDVD or Intervideo DVD playback software? The channels were pulled directly from Zap2it.

I've tried all 3 playback renderers(VR9,VR7,overlay), the only change is one of them (don't remember which, VR9 maybe) exits right back to the Main Menu. The other 2 just sit there on the preparing Timeshift TV screen.

I do get video just fine with the "Tuning Assistant" program. But I've yet to be able to get any type of video in GBPVR in 3 or 4 hours of playing around.

Specs: Dell 400sc, 2.8 P4, 512MB DDR, 128MB Radeon 9550, Conexant Blackbird card (Asus)

Any ideas?

This thread has been has digital BDA cards. When you click the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" is when these warnings are shown. If you only have a blackbird card (which is an analog card) then this doesnt apply, and you dont do this step - so you shouldnt see this warning.

So in summary, your error is something entirely unrelated, but send your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

I downloaded the trial version of "Intervideo WinDVD Creator" and installed it and GBPVR worked!

Thanks for your help. Sensational product and sensational support - you can't go wrong.

BTW don't uninstall the trial version or GBPVR stops working properly again.
