Editing my recorded TV show

Hi all, I've got a problem. This is taking place on an XP SP2 machine. Last night I recorded the Bears/Packers game in HD on my HVR-1600 via OTA and GB-PVR .16. I had the BDA set to DVR-MS. Now I have a large DVR-MS file (about 25g) and can view that file in WMP from any machine of the network.

How do I turn this DVR-MS file into a compliant MPEG2 file that I can edit in my MPEG2 editing software.

I've been searching but can't find the answer.

Afaik videoredo can do that, you can use it for free for (my guess) two weeks.
