I just installed comskip. I extracted the three files to my gbpvr directory. I then recorded sportscenter at 1am. After the show was over, I checked to see if I had a .txt file with the breaks for commercials and I don't.

What could I be doing wrong? Anyone else ever have trouble with comskip?

If you're running SP2, you may have to manually run comskip first by double clicking it and ensuring the "Always ask for this application" box is unchecked if a box pops up asking you if you want run the program.

If you don't do this ahead of time, the program waits for your authorization and therefore won't start on time.

If you've done this already, then I've got no clue myself.

rtia, I tried that. WHen I double click on the comskip executable, it opens up a command prmopt and quickly runs through the code, then closes.

Does it matter that I save to a different drive then GBPVR is on? I loaded GBPVR to the Master drive, a smaller drive. I have a second, 250gb hard drive that I use for my recordings.

I followed the simple directions, extracting all three files to the gbpvr directory. Are there other directories I am supposed to put the files in?

Has anyone else had any trouble with thte program?

I just read in another entry that reven wrote "yeah it does work, however it doesnt run whilst the program is still recording. once its finished recording gbpvr will automatically run comskip if its found in the gbpvr root directory and theres no postprocessing.bat file (otherwise that bat will run)."

Okay, well that may be my problem. I have a file named postprocessing.bat with the following code:

ArchiveEpisode %1 > archive.log
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log

I believe this is for the CDKscheduler plugin. Can CDKscheduler and comskip not run concurrently?

sub, thanks for the reply. I moved the postprocessing.bat file and now comskip works, so that was the problem.

I'm not the biggest programmer. Can you provide me with the 2 or 3 lines of code it would take to add comskip to my postprocessing.bat file?

Thanks!

got it, works

Okay, next comskip question ...

How can I use the txt file and the breaks it creates to cut commercials out when I author a DVD?

I usually take the mpeg that is created and use TMPEG DVD Author to author a DVD strcuture which I burn to a DVD.

Is there a way to use the breaks automaticlly or do I need to key in the frames?
