I'm having issues with last seasons recordings of The Office.
The last 5 minutes of whatever celebrity news show on before it is absolutly perfect.
then about 5 minutes into the Office I get glitches during panning.
The purevideo icon still doesn't pop-up when I watch mpeg2 & if I open the config & look at the decoder properties there is no bitrate meter & I cannot adjust colors.

also, the tray icon appears for a second then disapears.
I had it working correctly on a test PC & I don't remember what I did.

I think I made sure purevideo was the only decoder then choose default in the config & it worked correctly.
I'll need to test when I get home tonight.

I am also playing with the ATI AVIVO decoder / & dscaler but still seem to be getting weird things.

i was getting the tray icon doing that vanishing trick
i just did a repair install of gbpvr and it fixed it
makes sure you back up your gbovr folder before hand though
the rest of what you said is correct as far as getting the decoder to work

I'm back using the old exe and fullscreen exclusive now.

I could get OK image quality using the -fse switch on the new exe, but a blank screen after hibernation and the occasional random BSOD. The patch above fixed the hibernation issue, but I got the error message when selecting menu items.

Went back the old .exe with FSE- comes back from hibernation OK, but I get a black screen with a patch of corruption in the top R/H corner when I try and go to TV. Also sometimes get weird corruption issues (and a crash) when trying to go into live TV from the TV guide etc.

Which takes me back to fullscreen exclusive, which seems to work on all counts and gives me better image quality than FSE. I have to get it back up and running, because my rig is loosing WAF credibility at present ;-)

The only issue I have now is that sometimes the TV guide doesn't scroll on down through the list of channels, but I am glad to be back with a working setup!

Cheers for all your work.

Hmm, I'm getting blue screen's of death now too, about once a week or so. It's something I've never had on this machine until recently. I've never seen it happen - I've just turned on the TV and found it that way.

I'm using pvrx2 -fse. Anyone else running into this or is it just a coincidence?

I had the latest NVidia drivers too.

No BSOD when I go back to overlay. It's a shame I can't use the wizzy new interface, but nice that there is still the option of going back to the old one.

Daniel

I think I will wait for ATI to sort out their HD2400 range driver issues and then pick one up cheap- I guess that might help?

Actually, I'm not using an NVidia card - I use an ATI. I just noticed DanielP's comment about the BSOD which I only recently started getting myself. I noticed problems with the machine being able to resume after the screen saver kicked in too. The BSOD's never occur while I'm using the machine, but I find it in that state about once a week.

I could be a intermittent driver or hardware problem of course, but I only started having the trouble when I when to FSE mode.

What's the BSOD code you're getting? Does it report a specific file that's causing the error, and is it the same file every time? Did anything change in your setup (Microsoft patches, new drivers, decoders...)? (I know, lots of questions, but maybe I can isolate the problem as a driver, software or OS issue.)

Whelp....I thought my PCI 6200 was working for me.
Until I tried to watch a DVD.
All pretty colored blocks.
Down graded the drivers a step.
Lock-up.
I'll go down another level tomorrow & see how that works.

I wish all those broken compaq's & e-machines people gave me had AGP slots on them.

Hmmmm...dunno what the BSOD code was....will take a look in my event viewer later.

I also thought I was "there" at one point, but also got pretty blocky squares when I watched DVDs. Changed from Nvidia Purevideo to the Cyberlink 7 encoder and it went away. Weird thing is, I think that Cyberlink access Purevideo hardware directly anyway. Probably best not to think about this too hard!! As long as it works.

I am guessing that it is something to do with Nvida's latest driver, because I have auto updates disabled on my PC to avoid this very issue!
