I can't control volume for Music

Ok if this is not the setting how do you control the volume on the MVP? If I use the remote nothing happens. Have not tried the other settings (Master or Local). Maybe someone just knows what the setting should be.

The volume on the mvp is contolled by the mvp-remote, not on the server.
I guess most people control it through the tv/amp/whatever it is connected too.

It definitely has no bearing on the MPV...

I normally tune my TV directly to an analogue signal (cutting out the MPV), set the volume fairly high using the TV remote. I tune back to the MPV and I can then use the volume control on the 45 key remote... works for me.

Sub addressed this earlier in the thread, it related to a conflict on the older remotes on the volume keys also being navigation keys.

I was going to give Martin's dongle a try anyway, so if this number-key volume feature would make it to a next release I might hold out for that before upgrading one of my MVP's.

It's in the mvpmc alpha now. 1 = volume down 3 = volume up while audio is playing

Thanks Martin. I'm new to your dongle, but as said: was going to give it a try on my spare MVP. I guess I'll have to read up on how to use it, but that should be no problem. Tomorrow is sunday, lets hope its raining so I have an excuse to sit inside & tinker with the hardware ;-)

Looks like it's working great! (a bit premature, it's up & ru nning for 5 minutes now ;-) Thanks Martin, the volume changes with 1 & 3 and things look great. I'll be playing with the new features & let you know how things work out!
