Jaggy,

Thanks for sharing (and my tired old eyes thank you, too!).

I'm excited about the retro task images, but they don't seem to appear on the screen. Is there something special that I'm supposed to do to make them work? I noticed that the "blue" folder does not have a "_TaskImages" folder inside.

A real pain this getting old lark isn't it?

No you shouldn't have to do anything special for them to display on the main menu, works fine for me. Just to check the .zip was OK I downloaded it from the wiki & the images are all in the _TaskImages folder as they should be.

Sub doesn't display any taskimages in his Blue skin therefore no _TaskImages folder.

Sub there isn't anything odd on some setups displaying TaskImages is there?? I can't think of anything that should affect it

I have thought of one possibility for you not seeing the taskimages on the main menu.

On my development machine (for some reason I haven't bothered looking into) images display rather dark & as I have the taskimages displaying rather dark as a default it may be they are displaying fine but you just can't see them.

If you go to the main menu, highlight TV Guide & look towards the left can you see a red outline??

About Task Images.

Plugins are coded to show the file "task.png" in the plugin's folder.

For example "..\skin2\SkinNameHere\TVGuide\Task.png"

The main menu has to have task images enabled to see the images (which it looks like this skin does).

There is no use for a folder called "_TaskImages".
It does nothing.
MixMan used it for storage during installation and theme changing in his skins, and that may be causing some confusion.

I know you have been doing this a lot longer than I have but are you sure for pvrx2?

When I had the task images each called task.png & each in the associated folder (like in the older skins I did) ie. TV Guide, Recordings etc. there were skin errors in the logs, but when I moved them into a _TaskImages directory & changed the names to TV Guide.png, Recordings.png etc. the errors went away & everything seems to be fine for me both on the PC & MVP.

These eyes aren't that bad.Smile I'm just getting the same images that I saw with the default blue skin.

I only asked about the _TaskImages folder because that's where the "retro" images seem to be, and I thought that I was supposed to move them somewhere.

It's no big deal, I'll figure it out when I have some time.

I wasn't actually suggesting it was your eyes Smile I think it is probably a fault with my skin & if you have time would like to get it sorted out. Because if it isn't working for you it probably isn't working right for others either.

I have confirmed with sub they are fine there so that's not causing the problem.

How are you viewing, on a pc or tv or through a mvp?
I haven't been able to test conected direct to a tv as I don't have a svideo cable that will work with my video card.
All the other screens menus etc. look different the default blue skin don't they?
