Thx for the new release sub. I upgraded from 0227, and for some reason it cleared my capture source, no big deal, I'm updating the EPG now.

When closing the config app by clicking OK I get this dump:

I simply click continue in the debugscreen and then "cancel" and it closes down nice. It looks like everything is working.....

I did a fresh install with the new version .90.10 and as best as I can tell it seems "Practically Perfect in Every Way" on my system.

Thanks for the super maintenance release.....

Ok sub, here's what I got. The upgrade install over prior version, at least 0227 completely clears "everything" from what I can see. Personally, I feel forcing such things prevents old settings from screwing things up in new version anyway, but hey that's just me.

With the settings right out of the box, just setting up capture source, updating the EPG and enabling the 350 output, I did have some problems. The first time I tried, it went right to Live TV properly, but upon changing channels, it locked up gonig to the next channel, forcing to reboot the computer to use the program again. At least it didn't lockup the system hard, which the last version did, but all channels on the last version were snow anyway.

I went into the config and turned off the Use Live Preview mode if possible. What does this do anyway? Does it work with a 350, is this some sort of timeshifting mode or something? Anway, with that off, I tried it again, it usually made it two or three channels, but would eventually lockup after a channel change. Also, I could pause and unpause Live TV, but a FF or Skip Forward would lockup the output, forcing a reboot of the system. I checked my logs, the consistent thing coming through was like this:

The error above is similiar in each case. I then tried a few different things, turning the OSD transparency to 0, to 255, etc. Nothing seemed to help. On a long shot, I went to my registry to the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Hauppauge\hcwTVWnd and looked over the settings. I remember reading on a SageTV forum in the past that Hauppauge registry settings can affect 3rd party apps. Anyway, I changed the AllowResize to 1, and the LiveDelay to 500. I also noticed the RecordDelay was set to 2000.

Next, I went into the GBPVR Config and changed the LiveTV pre-play delay to 2000 ms to match the RecordDelay of the Hauppauge in the registry. I also set my GB-PVR OSD transparency to 255, just cause I like it that way. [Image: smile.gif]

Since then, I haven't been able to get this thing to lockup. Granted, because of the long 2000ms pre-play delay, it takes awhile to change channels, but it's the only thing I could think of, that GB-PVR was trying to change channels (stopping an old recording, and starting a new one) too fast, causing the card to lockup. I'm sure some of the changes I made may have had no effect, but at least one of them did. What is your opinion on this, and do you have any Hauppauge registry settings changed from the defaults?

This is major progress, this is the first version since 0227 that actually works on my system, which otherwise was very stable. The pausing Live TV and timeshifting also works now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps working. Great job on the release. Please answer what you can from my questions above.

I've just upgraded from .2313 to .910 and have lost all my previous recordings info. I've I done something daft or is this a jump too far? I have the gbpvr-retained.mdb can I recover?

Sorry Sub - us users are just getting too used to your top quality work and becoming needy!

Delete gbpvr.mdb and rename gbpvr-retained.mdb to gbpvr.mdb. Should work.

I found a small problem (very small) in the latest release (could have been in the prior release but did not use live TV due to other issues).

When you are watching Live TV, open the new TV guide at the bottom of the live screen and then select a new program from the TV Guide. Two (not one) pop-ups come on. The correct one in the foreground shows the show selected in the guide giving options to go there or record this new channel. Behind the correct pop-up screen is a second pop-up screen showing what is on the current channel playing (you can only see part of it).

I also pushed the Green power button on the remote again while in live tv and it locked up the program on the computer. I could not again access it from the MVP again until I closed GBPVR services on the computer and restarted them. I will get myself trained to not do that eventually.....

Great Update...really like the new functionality of the TV guide with the jump forward and back two hours or one day.

Whats the purpose of the config-master.dont-edit-me.xml file?

Thanks Sub - I tried renaming the GBPVR-retained.mdb, but that screwed up the capture source. I had a quick fiddle with access and recreated the programmes in the new mdb. All looks fine now.

Great release!
