Hi, I currently have a PVR500 and a PVR-150.

The PVR-150 has the hauppauge remote and this is currently what I use for the remote control for my gbpvr system.

If I replaced the pvr150 with a Hauppauge nova-s could it take over the same functions as the pvr150, in terms of using the hauppauge ir.exe software for controlling the system?? and obviously with the benefits of dvb-s feed into my pvr... Or would I be better off replacing the pvr150 with an hvr4000 or so in the hopes that later on I can also get the dvb-t feed when it comes on stream...

The important thing to be aware of with these satellite devices is the lack of a hardware MPEG2 encoder, so they're pretty much no good for analog.

I did know that - ta....

Since I already had a remote and it was running off the PVR-150 I just wanted to confirm that the nova-s would be able to take up that duty.

And have we been able to find out that after dvb-t starts with the hvr4000 work like a pvr500 and be able to record 2 things at once, or is it kind of a either/or situation?

I havnt tested the remote on an HVR4000, but I'm fairly sure you could do that for you.

I'm not 100% sure about this given I havnt been able to test DVB-T yet, but I think the device can physically do DVB-S+Analog at one time, or DVB-T+Analog, but I dont think it can be used for DVB-S+DVB-T.

Kordia are going to be running some Wellington DVB-T tests in about three weeks. It'll just be running a test loop though, no real channels.

I take the remote bit back.... I just checked mine and it doesnt have a socket for a remote. This may be because mine is a sample device, or an MCE variety.

I'd probably go the HVR3000. It'll let you do high def DVB-T next year etc.
