Does the commercial skip file need to be in edl format or do you also accept txt format. If it is edl format, are there headers on the file or does it just start with the first time sequence?

Mencoder requires an EDL file to cut the commercials out.

sorry for butting in pastro but might it be possible to pass the option to select 16:9 or 4:3 like you did with burndvdx2?

AFAIR: memcoder had an option to auto-detect the Ar but it doesn;t work correctly.

cheers

It's fine with me, but stattik will need to support it as well.

I need more info. Perhaps some more details or examples?

Not sure if it makes sense to add this to the script but, after transcoding I'd like to have the gbpvr db updated to reflect the new filename (if it was a recording...)

Code:
set sqlite3_path=c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\sqlite3.exe
set gbpvr_db=c:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3

%sqlite3_path% %gbpvr_db% "update recording_schedule set filename='%~dpn1%dest_ext%' where filename='%~f1'"

This will rename the recording file (if it exists) to the newly converted avi file.

The next version of the script has this as an option. Smile

Typically GBPVR will search for an AVI or MP4 file if the MPG and then update the database. However, if you're using the client/server setup the client will not search for the alternate file extensions which makes this option useful.

Do you use the client/server model?

actually i guess that I meant that I would like to be able to select letterbox or pillarbox as transcode options from pastro's plugin but it looks like you have both got this covered.

i thought (perhaps wrongly) that your script once used mencoder to try and auto-detect the AR and this feature didn;t work for me.

thanks

While mencoder does have an autocrop option, I felt it was easier to manually specify cropping rather than parsing the autocrop output.
