I just thought I would report back my findings on my DTS issue.

It turns out I was using the Gold Purevideo product, so it would not software decode DTS (I expected this). However it ALSO disabled DTS on SPDIF.

I upgraded the activation key to the Platinum key on the same Purevideo installation file, and now have software DTS decode AND DTS SPDIF pass-through.

My conclusion is the product type restrictions (bronze/gold/platinum) are applied to software decoding and SPDIF pass-through.

Mhm, i just found another weakness @ ForceWare and PureVideo.

Just in this Moment my MediaCenter has a GeForce 6150 (Onboard) and a GeForce 7900GT (PCIe).

Ok, i don't need to tell, that i cannot use every driver (my favourite 89.98 doesn't recognize 7900GT and the 9x.xx Series crashes with the additional 6150 while installation).

So, let's have a look for following connections:
6150: VGA -> LCD-TV 27" @ 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz
7900: VGA -> CRT 17" @ 1280 x 960 @ 75 Hz
ForceWare 84.25 + DxVA + PureVideo Platinum latest Version

GB-PVR ist running only on the 6150 (secondary Display)

With BOTH Graphiccards enabled, the CPU Usage while watching TV, DVD, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 has DOUBLED !!! Just so, even only one GPU is used for decoding.

Just using 6150 and disabling 7900GT needs only half CPU Usage; disabling 6150 and using both displays halfes CPU Usage too.

But i can't rely only on one GPU, because DxVA is using the Pixel Shader Unit of the Graphicscard, you're not able to play a nice 3D-Game while using DxVA Apps.

So i need both GPUs, but i will not accept my X2 4.200+ to run @ full speed (yes, both GPU's don't allow the cpu to run @ 1 GHz).

If someone has a similar setup like me, i would be grateful to hunt down this weakpoint and minimize it.

PS: ...even if i bought NVIDIA Hardware private and for business of years and spent many thousands euro i begin to hate them.

Not working VPU @ NV40 (AGP)
Not working NAM on nForce4
Buggy drivers
Dying G71's
and so on...

Just thought I'd toss out this page I promised CSY for aeons...

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/...coderTweak

I'd be interested to see how it works for everyone. I wrote a small VB app that helps change the values... (already went through some checking with CSY)

Please let me know what everyone thinks. I'll try and get the same sort of thing happening for CyberLink and InterVideo too..

Hey zedh, you around?

I just wonder if this will work on my Diamond Radeon x1600PRO.

If it does, will it work with PVRX2 started in VMR9 full screen exclusive mode?

Should GBPVR be set to "auto" for aspect ratio and display type "3" in your tool?

Sorry to ask such basic questions but the whole VMR - deinterlace - codec thing just goes right over my head.
