No that won't work. The config file only contains 1 section for MovieWiz, although you could create two instances of the plugin, they would share the same settings (and same db).

If I understand, you'd like to have 2 lists, one for the TV Shows, the other for the Episodes for that particular program. You should be able to do this with the Categories.

In the Config program, on the Setttings Tab, Add categories, one for each show:
  • Heros
  • Mind of Mencia
  • Friends
  • ...
Now, on the Manage Content tab, locate each show and Check the category you want it to appear in.

This should allow you to create a list of all your programs, and when on a particular program (ie category), all the episodes for that show.

Note, you could take it farther if you wanted, the Category in the plugin is actually a list, you could skin it so it showed more that 1 list element at a time...

i thought of an option that could be useful, at least for me...
i like the images that yahoo gets more, and i would like it to default to yahoo search when it imports images. Any way we could choose which search engine it looks up images for? maybe some people get all theres in a folder already so a local search would be good for them, just an idea.

also after typing this i realized a problem i have. my movies are stored with the THE at the end, for example "Karate Kid, The (1986).avi" ive noticed that yahoo and any other search besides IMDB fails whenever there is any type of punctuation in the name, like commas or apostrophes and stuff.

Well the idea for two copies was one for movies and one for episodes. under episodes I would use your category idea.
It doesn't just use the database from the current directory?
do categories work with an MVP?

Categories work great with an MVP... Try creating a category for 'Movies' and assigning this category to all your movies... then create a category for each of the series that you are recording (or have recorded already) and assign these new categories to all the relevant episodes for each series... something similar works for me.

I've been thinking of adding a search order to the searches, so that will probably show up in a future version.

I'll take a look at modifying the searches to potentially get a better hit rate by removing the punctuation and potentially trailing works like 'the, a, and,...'.

This is exactly the plugin I've been looking for as MyVideos doesn't work under PVRX2.

One minor issue remains, though:

- The names of the movies I got on my disk don't seem to match very well with those in the IMDB-db.
I would like to see some sort of 'fault-tolerant' IMDB-lookup utility. Can this be done ?

Could you provide me with some examples of what the names on your disk look like? If I can provide some sort of algorithm to parse (that is somewhat generic), I can add this to the lookup code.

Also, be aware that if it does not find it in the initial lookup, you can change the title on the Add Content tab and perform the lookup again.

Thanks for the fast reply !

here you go:

e.g. Monty Python - 3x05 - The All-England Summarize Proust Competition.divx
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0650992/

Tool Time - S2F10 - Der Holzschnüffler.mp4
this is a german title, so probably no luck there

Most of the movies I couldn't find in the first run were found after fiddling around with the title - thanks for the hint.

Some remain unavailable, though:

Loriot's Ödipussi.avi
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094407/
23 - Dreiundzwanzig.avi
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126765/
Grüne Tomaten.mp4
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101921/ (available via an AKA - search)

Obviously, these are german titles, still they are listed in the IMDB.
Any chance of getting further here ?

I happened to be looking for a replacement for the Movie / Show info Plugin which downloads IMDB/TVInfo data and I see you are the fellow for that.

I scrape all my EPG data using TVXB and I miss a lot of description which folks in North America get served up by Schedules direct and its predecessor, Zap2it.

Does the plugin auto-update the EPG description info for shows that have been recorded, if not could this be a feature request i.e.
  • On-demand IMDB (etc) infor for shows that you manually want to add EPG info to and
  • auto-update the EPG description info for shows that have been recorded.
Cheers

Trailing or leading "_" would be a help good too.

btw, I absolutely love this plugin, it's ferpect! Thank you! thank you! thank you! ... (now for the feature requests in addition to the ones above ... Big Grin )
  1. Not sure if this is a bug or not.... I was trying this by UVNC, but presumably it's the same as live at the PC.... when I choose a dir (either network or local dir using the three "..." browse button) and then select locate new content, it worked the first time and loaded the list OK.

But then when I browsed to a new dir, and said load, it didn't load the new list. When I unchecked the subdir checkbox and click load again, it loaded the new list OK.

After that If I just chose the dir using the drop down it seemed OK. Minor thing I guess, but it seems like it couldn't flush out the old list when you chose a new one.
  2. Auto-update the EPG description + thumbnail info for shows that have been recorded (as above) i.e. do not need to go into the manager each time?
  3. Save multiple lists of show locations, so if you have shows on say 3 or 4 hard disks, it'll search across them all at once?
cheers. GREAT plugin. Those in NA probbaly wonder why I am so ecstatic, but scraping (e.g. TVXB) never gets you the show the detail SchedulesDirect probably does. This is just the cats pyjamas for me.
