Hi everyone. First time poster, but regular lurker.
I've had a few problems recently with GVPVR, but found most of the answers by searching this forum and generally finding the solution by trial and error.
This one has me stumped though, and I can't see anything alreayd suggested that can solve it. I've bene through the Survival guide and tried the things that seem relevant, but nothing seems to work.

Ok, the problem is: My EPG started to go blank a few days ago, on certain channels. Because I had ben recording overnight (when the update was scheduled) I thought it might be something to do with that, so I altered the update time for the next night.

It still didn't update and more channels appeared to loose their listings.

Yesterday i tried to update from the icon (right click in the sys tray and select "Update EPG". The CPU usage went up to 100% and when I came back 4 hours later it was stll like it.
I cancelled it, rebooted and tried again. Same thing.
I then tried going into Config and selecting Update through "Capture Source -> BDA Recorder Plugin -> Edit -> Update EPG".
This started fine for about 5 mins before bringing up a generic "This program has done something" error from Windows.

I went to check the logs and I have 20 or so different logs for each action, so I moved them all to a spare directory, cleaned the folder out and did it again. I have enclosed to two new config and config.exe.log and the Native one.

My system:
I'm using the latest verison of GBPVR (1.0.16) with no extra (as far as I am aware) plug-ins. I use the default skin.
Windows XP, Happauge DVB PCI Card (although I forget which one - Possibly 350)

I know Sub is away on holiday, but any generla pointers would be much appreciated.

UK channels had one of their periodic swap arounds last week. Before you do anything else, go to your capture source and rescan for the channels. This should help you get the epg for the new channel numbers.

Quick update: I rescanned on Win TV, then set Config on GBPVR to re-map channels, and the computer crashed Sad

I'm going to remove the entire program and reinstall it from scarch.

Captain, can you try enabling log flushing in the config app, then hit the 'update epg' button in the config app, then after it completes zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log? Thanks.

Ok just done that and had the same (windows) error.

I have hit the report button, but it doesn't want to connect to the server. I also tried pressing the debug button, and that just brings the error back again...

I've got a feeling it's Windows, rather than GBPVR because the logs (to my untrained eye anyway) look like they just.. stop..

Unfortunately you forgot to enable log flushing so the log is cut short. Can you please try again, then repost the logs.

Ok I realise now I ticked the option and didn't Apply the change. My bad.

Ok, redone now. Hoep this helps.

The error message I get is the standard Windows:

GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

I have exactly the same problem. I have been using WinTV Nova t USB with no problems - with scan type 2 inserted in the config file - until a week or so ago. Then channels were missing in the EPG so I removed the old GBPVR completely and loaded 1.16.

Now I can't scan at all - after indicating that 1 of 6 channels is being scanned and getting a short burst of audio, I get the "Problem encountered" message and the program then exits. The Hauppauge program works with no problem and receives all channels and a complete EPG. The logs show nothing - they just stop logging. For the moment I have to use the Hauppauge program but please, GBPVR, try and find a solution so that I can use your excellent program again.

I've spent three days so far trying all manner of possible solutions with no change whatsoever to the problem.
