Hey all, I've got a strange problem.

I've got an external channel changer set up so I can record from my video box, it's been working fine until now. The channel changer itself works, as does the program I use to use it, I've confirmed this by testing it manually. But for some reason GBPVR won't change the channel any more.

All the channels are there, I've checked and rechecked the string I've got to make sure nothing is different and it isn't. I can't figure out what's wrong. I've tried restarting the program and the computer and nothing.

Then I tried to change the channel on live TV and that sort of worked in that I could see GBPVR was communicating with the channel changer, but it seemed to be going really slowly and missing some of the channels, like I would type in "203" and it would just go to channel 20, then I'd type in "030" or "30" and it didn't do anything. I've got the two boxes checked off in the exe changer so that's not the problem.

What device are you controlling, and what channel changer are you using?

I'm using the .exe channel changer to control a program called digits.exe which in turn activates transmit.exe to send numbers to WinLirc. The device itself is a Jeteye IR Serial device as shown here.

When I use digits.exe manually it changes the channel fine.

Unfortunately GB-PVR is really going have much say in how that utility performs when there other things going on on the system. When you run it manually, its digit timing might just be on the edge, enough to be acceptable as the correct number. So, when other stuff is going on like recording files being created, logging etc, it might not quite get that timing right.

I'm guessing you may have to try tweaking digit repeat count or inter digit delay settings in WinLirc.

Also make sure you have the follow in config.xml:

<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>false</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>
<ForceHighPriorityClient>false</ForceHighPriorityClient>
<MvpHighPriority>false</MvpHighPriority>
