EPG won't update - Freeview in the UK

Hi Sub,

I've attached the two logs as requested.

Some more possible clues:-

I'm on Caradon Hill transmitter - 30 miles away - but I can't receive Plympton which is only 1/4 mile away as I'm in the shadow of the hill with the Tx, but Caradon is line of sight.
I normally get very good reception and all my other freeview receivers are working well.

When I first lost some of the EPG I switched to the Radio times XMLTV and this worked OK for two days. After a new XMLTV download GBPVR couldn't see any information at all and when I used a reader it reported "Not a valid Radio Times file" even though it could still read the earlier file. Both XMLTV files seem to have all the information when viewed with Notepad. Now, of course I can't do any further tests as GBPVR can't tune even in XMLTV mode.

I'm using the Cyberlink mux, could it be that there is a change in the ts stream that has made it incompatible.

I have two Cyberlink muxs loaded, how can I find out which one is being used by GBPVR?

I also have other Muxs which don't show in GBPVR. How can these be used?

prog.xml is being rejected because it is an invalid xml file. If you look at the end of the file, its cut short and half the file is missing. You'd have to talk to the author of the xmltv grabber to resolve this.

Yes, a change in the underlying transport stream could be causing problems with scanning or populating the EPG (the Cyberlink mux with mak no difference to this). The only way for me to test this is for you to record a 200MB or so full transport stream, then let me download it from somewhere to try in GB-PVR. DVBStreamExplorer can record full transport stream file for you.

Run muxchecker. It'll use the first cyberlink mux listed.

No, mux filters are not interchangeable like decoders. GB-PVR needs to explicitly implement support for each type of mux it wants to support. Some muxes wouldnt be possible, like the Hauppauge Mux which crashes unless it is used with other WinTV components, and the Elecard mux which cant be initialised to the correct mode without having access to internal info that is only given to licensees ($$$$).

Thanks Sub - Unfortunately I can't do any more testing until I have a solution to the tuning problem.

If I can save a transport stream I will upload it to my website but I don't think the Nova PVR will save ts. I'll try tomorrow. I have an old Videomate card which I think will save ts. If so I'll install it and try to save the stream.

You should be able to with the DVBStreamExplorer software. Use the Nova-T if you can, since then it'll contain any transmission errors you're also receiving when trying to use the device in GB-PVR.

Hi Sub,

I've now installed the Videomate card and I'm getting the same problem in GBPVR when using this card.

If I select Caradon Hill then it fails on the first multiplex but if I scan for all channels then it scans for quite a while and it only fails when it hits an active multiplex.

The Videomate T200 works perfectly with the Videomate PVR.

Using GSpot I get a file missing warning for "GBPVR Parser". Could this be the problem?

I've updated the Cyberlink mux to 3608 but there is no improvement.

I've got two transport streams (Mux 1 and 2) but my site will only hold 30MB so I don't think I can send them.
