Not really... I could possibly have two identical filenames (different folders) in the same category.

As I said, it really only affects the 'Show Off' factor - every visitor to the house now gets a compulsory guided tour of GB-PVR via an MVP (including all the plugins) and this is the sort of little thing they pick up on.

Bug. Could one of you send me sample DB that has this problem?

Quote:Also and this is nitpicky but the arrows on the Filter/Category show left right but the functionality is actually up down (left right moves to the next entry section), it catches me a lot.
Must of caused this in a recent release. It should use the right/left arrows on categories, and up/dn on the movie list. I'll take a look.
Quote:Finally (ok you know its a good plug-in when there are 18 pages of comments in a few days) with the ctrl-y/yellow button control can the focus stay in the movie area (or wherever it was) rather than revert up to the category area.
That should be no problem. I'll make that change.

You changed the categories scroll keys from left/right to up/down in 1.0.8.0, but you left the arrows as R/L, but you also said in the release notes...
Quote:Added ability to map keys for the categories list to nav with up/dn instead of left/right. Need to create KeyMappings/MovieWiz.xml.
I'm not sure if this is something you are going to do, or is it something we should be doing.

Anyway, I still think that up/down is more intuative/consistent for category scrolling, since although only one instance is showing, it is still a list, and it also means that moving the focus between screen areas is always left/right...

Does that make sense?

I really think it's a more consistent behavior like it is now, when up/down scrolls in a panel and left/right moves between the panels.
So I like it as it is at the moment. There is possibilities to change the behavior in a xml-file if that is wished.

10/30/2007 : 1.0.9.0
  • Added IMDB AKA lookup. Useful for foreign titles.
  • Added stand-alone GUI (MovieWizManager.exe) to run the Movie Wiz Manager outside of GBPVR. Must be run from the plugins/MovieWiz directory.

Thanks a bunch, Wiz.

The AKA-Lookup feature has improved things a lot, still there are some issues:

Angst und Schrecken in Las Vegas.avi should refer to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120669/
Miss Marple - Der Wachsblumenstrauss.avi should refer to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057334/

Good thing to have MovieWizManager.exe - to make it even more useful:
would it be possible to run it on a different computer ? (scenario: My wife watching CSI:, me sitting at my desk ...)

As an extension to this, can it be scheduled to run with command line params which are multiple dirs?

I carry out my MovieWiz maintenance on my laptop in the kitchen then copy the database to my server - works just fine, but you need use a full network path such as
Quote:\\Titan\pvr\Music Videos\David Gilmour - Remember That Night\02 - On An Island.mpg
when you load movies.

I am currently rewriting the lookup screen scraping functions. They should be alot more bullet proof, so hopefully that will solve the issues you are seeing. Let me know after the next version if things have gotten better or worse.

You could do this IF you use UNC names for the movies (ie \\server\share\dir\moviename). So, instead of locating via a drive letter (ie C:\ D:\... ), do it from My Network Places. This way at runtime the program will always be able to locate the movie (and image) files.

Sounds interesting - do you have a full GBPVR-Install on your laptop ?
I couldn't get MovieWizMaintenance running remotely from my HTPC, so I did another GBPVR install on my office PC. Not exactly what I wanted but works, though.

Can't wait for the next version to appear ... Wink

Yet another minor 'issue' with 1.0.9:

Though IMDB-entries are found in most of the cases, images are only found when looking for the english title. Can this be resolved ?
