Newbie has questions

Boy do I have questions!! First, my system. I have MCE 2005 for my OS, and the MCE remote (no colored buttons) and a dish VIP 211 settop box. I want to control the box from CB-PVR. I got it set up with MCE but I had to teach MCE the right codes for the VIP 211. I get the feeling I need a program like HIP to control the 211 through the IR Blaster, right? Question is, if I do that will I lose the use of the remote to control MCE?

Second question, I see the guide only displays 2 hours of program at a time. Am I missing a setting or is that it?

Third and last (for now ) I aslo see an option for using 3 digit tuning, but nothing for 4 digit tuning. Can I assume 4 digit is not supported?

With the development of the new PVRX2 UI it is currently limited to 2 hours, but I'll make it configurable again in a future release.

Correct. You can send four digit channel numbers, but there is nothing to pad 3 digit numbers with a leading '0' etc.

Thanks for the quick answer, Sub. So I could have left the 4 digit channels in the EPG. Oh well, at least it compiles quicker this way. As for the remote, it works great with GB-PVR, but when it uses the blaster to send to the VIP 211, I can see it send but mothing happens. Is there a way to change the blaster codes from WITHIN GB_PVR or PVRX2?

No, you pretty much have to use HIP/Girder/EventGhost if you're using an MCE IR Blaster.

Now I am getting frustrated. I am trying to teach HIP the commands for my dish remote, and as soon as I hit a key, before I can even hit a button on the remote, the damn thing times out. The guide in here is no help as HIP as changed too many things on the menus since it was written. Does anyone have a config file I could use to teach this thing a Dish remote? I didn't have any of this with MCE!!
