Hi, this was all working before i upgraded to GBPVR v1.0.16

The TV Guide inside GBPVR works with channel icons, installed EWA and its working, however when i select (in the Config page) Channel icons OR Channel icons with text then it seems to crash the server, hangs for a while then stops responding.

Things to look for first??? This all worked well in v0.98.13 with the current build for that GBPVR.
Many Thanks
Ashley

UPDATE

EWA is now broken for good, GBPVR works (on MVP) and the TV guide works on MVP with icons however EWA refuses to now work, halts the browser with no page displayed and the CPU usage goes up to 100% on the server and thats it, nothing more, no page.

Stopped restarted services, same problem, stopped and recopied the orginal EWA files in to WEB folder, same problem so somehow this has damaged something outside the web folder.... ideas??

This upgrade from v.98.13 to v1.0.16 has been a NIGHTMARE, everysingle part of the upgrade has failed (lost recordings, damaged new plug ins (for the new PVRX2) and now the EWA.....

Insert <<reasons to never upgrade when not needed here>> and the <<aint broke dont fix it reasons here>>
Many Thanks
Ashley

UPDATE 2

Turned off the Webserver in the config file, turned on logging and save to disk in DEBUG mode, found there was a JAVA update to v6 so just installed it.

Restarted the machine, opened config again and enabled the webserver, now when i attempted to get the webpage i do get the login page and thats it, after putting in the username and password THEN it all locks.

Now i cant find any errors in any log files, so which log file will i need to look at?
Many Thanks
Ashley

Haven't had this issue reported before.....are you using the EWA version that ships with 1.0.16 or are you using the most recent build 66?

Are you following the instructions for upgrading EWA on the wiki?

On another note.....I always recommend to anyone that is upgrading software that is important to them to make a backup prior to any upgrade. You can simply copy the gbpvr directory somewhere else when you do the upgrade and if something goes wrong....uninstall....install older version and then copy your backup over the standard directory and presto....back to normal.....saves a lot of headaches.

See here

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post237558

I have tried this AGAIN with a new install from scratch with NO EWA (just the one that ships with GBPVR) same result so it might not be EWA, rather something else that comes between the Web Admin and GBPVR itself....
Many Thanks

Ok...what ships with gbpvr and EWA are one in the same.....just newer versions are available in this sub-forum.

Ok....first lets clear out all the EWA settings.....

Go into your gbpvr directory and delete the config-web.xml file.

Now access EWA......don't change any settings......is it usable?

Then.....go to config tab and change to just use channel icons.....is it crapping out again?

If so, send me the logs....you will find them in a sub-folder called logs somewhere down in thbelow the dl3 folder.....it will be a subfolder in the folder that contains the gbpvrpublic.dll file.....

Rather interesting, i replicated this fualt on the laptop as well.. (handy, but not good overall, i was hoping it was a Server install issue, it doesnt seem like it).

Windows 2000 SP4
Java v6
.Net 2

Standard install of GBPVR v1.0.16 (with the correct weather plug in that does work), there is no update of EWA on this machine as it didnt need web access.

Web worked on install.
Stopped service
Removed config-web.xml
Started service
Logged in to web (using http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/)
Went to CONFIG tab, checked TEXT and Channel Icons then submit and wait for update.
Clicked Guide, it was now locked, never did anything at all, stays on the config page, status bar on IE said "done" like it had loaded the guide, althugh it never moved from this page. I will add the v.99.5 works FINE with the above action.
Closed web page
Opened new page, went to http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/ no page loaded, just waits with "waiting for..." at the bottom of the webpage, if there was NO auto login this WOULD bring up the log in box, its the actual GUIDE page it cant load.

My logs i think you are looking for are here D:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\gbpvr\8a75985d\8f137539\assembly\dl3\1bee7a7e\00883ef7_67cfc701\logs

The only file with something in is 71371ca6-1-128386092762044656.log the other is 0kb

i will add once this happends GBVRRecordingS in task manager sits at 90-100% ALL the time after this, ever with restart service this just sits at this all the time, on this occasion i cant stop the service, just says "stopping" so will need restart and un-install and re-install.
Many Thanks
Ashley
