That episode has the information. At least in my listings. It output should have contained an episode id of HABF17.

Oz will have to figure that one out if he is so inclined. With the price of SD these days though, he may not bother with it.

Regardless of how economical SD is now days, the YApi2Xml utility affirms that there is the desire for free EPG and there are plenty of people who are willing to show a bit of patience for a free tool and service.

I greatly appreciate Oz's time and effort, and am willing to wait for his assistance.

Respectfully,

I'm pretty sure he'll fix it, I just didn't want to commit him to it Wink

whurlston,

I understand. Thank you for not taking my last post the wrong way.

I truly love my GB-PVR and everything available with it!

Have a great day!

Yea, just gotta figure out which array element would have it Big Grin. Hopefully your PMs would have it.

EDIT: I am already including it for some things. Whurlston it appears to be element 179 on the | delimited list. Ideas?

EDIT 2: I'm having a problem deciding what the on-screen episode number is. For example for scrubs I have: SR007 for season number and 107 for on-screen episode number (i think). but for other shows I only have a season number which is like: 258, 2CC043. What do you two think of doing this: if the on-screen number exists use that if it doesn't see if there is a season number and use that? Sound good?

I was using element 179. I'll take a look at the data tonight after my wife goes to bed just to double check. On my app, I just always used whatever was in 179 unless it was blank.

That is what it currently does. At least in my version.

Then his data file must not have contained the info. Nothing you can do about that one.

(Well technically you could do something but I don't think it would be worth the trouble.)

It sounds like it may be a problem with the Yahoo! EPG. I guess that's what we get for using Yahoo!. As for YApi2Xml, I would stick to whatever you guys have that resembles a standard (i.e, 179 = on-screen, ### = season, etc). That way other applications like I-xmltv will find the right information in the correct place in the future. Perhaps we'll just have to look to a different free EPG source that includes all of the show meta information, consistently.

What do you guys think?

Respectfully,

Gary

P.S. See I'm not that unreasonable.

The reason we used the Yahoo data was because it was one convenient download instead of having to scrape multiple pages. There is no other place on the Internet we are aware of that we can get the data in one download. And with the price of Schedules Direct and CT-PVR Listings, I don't think it's worth the effort to go looking for another source. Especially since we did that before and Yahoo and MCE were the two best that we could find.

Edit: Sorry. After all that, I realize that whey you said "Perhaps we'll just have to look to a different free EPG source", you were talking about your household, not the programmers. :o

You could look at others but if you want reliable consistent data, your best option is Schedules Direct.
