gbpver not updating EPG via ScheduleDirect

I got this to work with ScheduleDirect using the --configure script. I am using version 1.0.8 of gbpvr and the I-xmltv application is dated 26/11/2006. My UpdateEPG.bat contains only one line:

call c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat

I tried replacing the GBPVRBackendCommon.dll in the gbpvr directory but it didn't help.

Can anyone give me step by step instructions.

What exactly is going wrong?

If you manually run the UpdateEPG.bat file, does it call your batch files, and inturn create an xmltv file full of your listings? Is your capture source configured to use the xmltv epg source and pointed at that xmltv file? When you hit the 'Update EPG' button in the config app, does it pull in those listings?

Yes, it calls the batch file but I don't see anything of any meaning in the xmltv file. I would exped to see some show names and descriptions. Yes capture source is configured to use xmltv plugin as it worked initially when I signed up at SD. Presently, no description shows up with I hit "TV Guide Search" so EPG is not being populated. Do you know if c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat will always write a log file in c:\i-xmltv when UpdateEPG.bat is run? Is my SD password suppose to be in the file in c:\i-xmltv\.xmltv? I have a feeling that it is not getting through to SD.

Sorry, I've never used i-xmltv, and dont really know anything about it so cant help with the details using it.

If i-xmltv was playing it's part, and was successfully producing a valid xmltv file, but GB-PVR was failing to import it, then I'd be able to tell you why by looking at the GB-PVR log files.

Are you using the old Access database?
I think you may need to migrate to the SQLite database.

Also, Zip and post your entire config.exe.log. The error would have been above what you posted.

OK I have attached the log. Will updating gbpvr to latest version, update the database version too?

Sorry, you need to post that log after hitting the 'update epg' button in the capture source settings, otherwise the log wont show an attempt to update the EPG.

I finally managed to get this working. I noticed that my EPG listing file was zero bytes (TVGuild.xml) so I did the following:
- upgrading gbpvr to version to 1.0.16 and to xmltv 0.5.50. Probably upgrading gbpvr was not the problem but it doesn't hurt.
- copy all the files for xmltv to c:/xmltv
- issue command "c:\xmltv\xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --days 11 --output TVGuide.xml". This retrieved the data from SD properly. Also updated the UpdateEPG.bat file in the gbpvr directory with above command.

I don't think so. If you are using the old database format, you need to go into your gbpvr directory and run changedatabase.exe
A word of warning tick the migrate data checkbox if you want your existing recordings to be displayed on the menu and ready to play.
