I havnt personally used it in XP, but from what I've read it is available as long as .net 3.0 is installed. WMP11 might also install it.

Typically, the EVR is not installed on a computer running Microsoft Windows XP. The EVR is not part of Windows XP itself, and installing Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP does not install the EVR. In some cases, however, a computer running Windows XP might have the EVR installed. For example, installing Windows Presentation Foundation on Windows XP results in the EVR being installed as well.

I found that I also needed to regsvr evr.dll to get it functioning after installing .net 3.0 in XP. In case it helps anyone else, I also found you need to turn of dxva acceleration if you're trying to get this working in XP, it's not compatible. Doing this got the files rendering OK in graphedit.

That said, while it's working fine in graphedit it doesn't function in GB-PVR - just get a light grey screen and no sound regardless of media file tried (h.264, xvid, mpeg etc).
